    My family have ordered from China Garden for at least 15 years and, honestly, the food is great. However, over the last few years the delivery has become so poor that I can no longer order from here. Ordered at 17:15, arrived at 21:00. Phone lines were switched off so I couldn’t contact them. I had to drive to the restaurant, where I found around 10 other people with the same issue. When I arrived, I was informed that the food had just left, despite a notification over an hour earlier saying the courier was on the way.

    Used to be amazing quality but the last couple orders haven't been so great. Tonight will be our last order as the chips were raw & inedible which is a shame as the curry & rice noodles were ok.

    This was our go to Chinese takeaway for years, but sadly it has gone down hill and I would not recommend it! The service is not what it was, they often forget items, and the food quality although okay isn’t great. Also, it’s far more costly now for what it is. Shame to be honest.

    Been going to China garden for over 30 years, my mum even longer. We live opposite. Sadly the last few years the quality of the food has just got worse and worse to the point of not even being edible and the price has increased several times making it one of the most expensive in the area. The food always takes much longer than expected even when we collect and ask them to tell us if there are any delays so we don’t have to wait in the store that has poor seating. It’s really sad to see what has happened to this place. Tonight we walked down to Hong Kong inn and the food was honestly miles better than China garden and way better value for money and a familiar face behind the till. I would highly reccomend this to anyone who wants a better Chinese takeaway in the local area and can’t see why anyone would still go. Sorry China garden you have lost two massive repeat customers.

    Awful another disappointing order from a local Chinese takeaway! Food was reheated even the chips. Curry was congealed as reheated also if they cannot be bothered to cook fresh chips then that speaks volumes for the rest of the menu!!!! £25 wasted on these lazy poor quality takeaways. SOUTHAMPTON WHERE ARE THE DECENT FRESHLY COOKED CHINESE TAKEAWAYS???? HELP AS IM LITERALLY DESPERATE NOW

    Ordered a lemon chicken that came with chunks of pineapple in. this was not listed on the menu and i had a pineapple allergy so could not eat my food. everyone else’s food looked nice though

    Have used this takeaway for last 15 years, it's gone way down hill in last few years, last 3 meals have been cold and and chips have looked like they have been took out of the bin and re served. If its sub standard food you are looking for this is the place to go, ive seen better looking food left over in the bus stop on my way home from a night out.

    Don't know why so many negative reviews, maybe some fake ones out there? Ordered my usual last week and was of the same high quality as always been, hot, tasty and quick delivery. If you have used before and been put off by reviews, order again. Let's not loose a good takeaway because of some negative reviews..
