4 of us went for lunch today at 12.45. Very busy and only 2 waitresses rushed off their feet. No bar staff so Manager having to run the bar. Our food eventually arrived at 13.40 and one meal (Hunter’s chicken) was rock hard and burnt underneath. The person eating this meal couldn’t wait for another to be cooked (having been told it wouldn’t be quick) as he had an appointment to go to. He just ate the chips and peas on the plate. No time to eat a dessert. Very disappointing. The price of his meal was deducted from the bill. Today was not a good experience at all. The three remaining diners left at 3.30 pm

Food was hot and didn't have to wait to long even though the restaurant was totally full.

Had a lovely meal with my family, I ordered the ribeye steak which was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Our waitress was lovely, we had a really nice evening. Only negative is the toilets, they really need a revamp.

Festive Feast with Friends at Beefeater, Southcote. Christmas Eve called for a festive get-together with friends, and Beefeater provided the perfect setting. Snagging a table for six was a Christmas miracle in itself! We kicked things off with their starter deal – £17.99 for four dishes. The chicken wings were a tad over-fried, but the garlic bread and halloumi fries were spot on. Mains were a real treat. The chicken burger was juicy, the fish and chips were classic, and the salmon with asparagus was cooked to perfection. But the real star of the show? The mushy peas! Service was friendly and efficient, our server (didn't catch her name, sadly!) kept everything moving smoothly despite the festive rush. Overall, a great spot for a pre-Christmas catch-up with friends. Good food, good company, and good times. Happy days indeed!

Very good food, nice ambience and service ok. Just perfect for watching a World Cup semifinal on a Tuesday night.

Pleasantly surprised is an understatement. Service was very good and friendly. All our food was amazing. The calamari starter was cooked to perfection. Our steaks were lovely. We will definitely be returning.

As far as places to eat go, it wasn't too bad. They had a good variety on the menu and even my mum, who is a vegetarian, managed to find something that she liked. With our food, was bottomless chips - which we took full advantage of! And refillable drinks. The children's menu was very good too, good sized meals and desert (pictured).

One of the best Beefeaters we have been to. Great atmosphere and with the usual great quality food. All the staff were polite and helpful

We had a great experience at the Southcote Beefeater this week. All the staff were welcoming and friendly, especially our server Linda, who was brilliant. Food came in good time and was really tasty. We actually live closer to the Reading Gate Beefeater but the service there was far too slow, you can barely get 1 course in an hour! We will be making the slightly longer journey to The Southcote now everytime!
