   The food was good but was left under the hot plate for a little too long. I could see the food just chilling there for about 15 minutes, but I understand on the night me and my sister went a staff member didn't come in so there was a bit of a back loge. Overall it was a good and nice experience.

   So it started off ok I was greeted warmly and shown to my table, my drink was duly ordered and was brought to me. So as it is the festive season I decided to go for the Festive set menu as it seemed really good value. I ordered the Pate to start to be followed by the Roast Turkey dinner. I was looking forward to this as I had been driving from up north for over 6 hours. My pate came out, and initially I was a tad under impressed as you can see from the photo it all looked a bit sad on the plate and I certainly wasn't not feeling festive when this was plonked down in front of me !!! However it redeemed itself slightly as the Patè was tasty as was the onion marmalade in the little ramekin. So next my eagerly awaited main course arrived and it looked nice and this dish looked far more appealing to the eye ! So I tucked in and yes it was very tasty and I was enjoying it until.......... I discovered a little round Sticky Label with the word THURS on it, buried under my Roast Parsnips. I was a tad shocked to say the least. Now I do not believe in making a scene or shouting and screaming at anyone, but I was not very happy so I caught the attention of a young lady who turned out to be the duty manager and for a minute or two she was clearly shell shocked and had no words of comfort to offer me. My plate was quickly whisked away and she came back full of remorse and apologies. Her immediate response was would you like anything else ? My reply was a firm would you ??? So after a small discussion I left with a feeling that this had not been dealt with adequately, I was due to eat breakfast in the same restaurant in the morning as I was staying the night in the adjacent Premier Inn and she did say that my breakfast would be refunded, however I have to wait 5 to 7 days to see if this actually happens !! All in all a shocking experience to say the least.

   Breakfast was ok and what you would expect but the dinner service was rather poor. The waitress took ages to take my order and when the food was ready she forgot part of it and didn’t check - didn’t come to check on me either. Food itself was fine though.

   Went here the other day. Steak was pretty good and chips were cooked pretty well. Sauce was out of a packet and the service was ok. Pretty good value for money.

   I must have gone on an off day! Normally these Beefeaters are efficiently run and food is good. Not this one so much. Over 45 minutes to get fish and chips for just me. If it hadn't been for the meal deal, I would have walked out. The ladies at the bar managed to save the day. Update... got worse day 2. Restricted menu choice of three puddings, not the menu advertised. Pictured the well done steak I recieved. I did walk out. Update day 3... anyone else from the hotel was out of luck as it was closed for evening meals!

   So some extended family dropped by here on the way back from the airport for breakfast a couple of weeks ago and were so impressed they took us! It is a really excellent breakfast and fantastic value. Looking forward to our next trip to see the family and ill be asking if we can go again! Staff were super lovely too.

   The breakfast here is very poor, one of the worst I have had in a long time. The bacon is streaky bacon which was slightly cold, there were no eggs and the beans were cold too. The staff do not seem interested when we tried to ask them any questions. They did not offer anything vegetarian which is very unusual as one of our party was a veggie. Very dissapointing.
