Really enjoyed our visit to the Switch. Walked 35 mins there and back and did not disappoint. Lots of options on the menu. Went for the tomato tapinade with sausage and smashed avo with bacon. Food was gorgeous and staff very polite and attentive. Recommended to others staying at our hotel who also visited.
The beef shin potatoes was one of a kind a really special dish. The duck egg chorizo was right there with it. Best breakfast in reading hands down!
Visited this place based on an online search for a good cafe within an hour of central London. Tilehurst in Reading has a village feel and Switch was great. We shared Rustic Fries and a Switch Rarebit and both were excellent. Plenty for two for a good lunch. Coffee was good as well! £24 for the bill for an excellent lunch with quick service and friendly staff. Will definitely visit again when in Reading. You should note they close at 3pm.
I went to the Switch for brunch with friends. We received a friendly, happy helpful service. Cafe was beautifully decorated and clean inside and was buzzing with many others enjoying brunch. I had smashed avocado with bacon which was incredible, friends had a stack of pancakes which looked to die for and a bacon sandwich. Lots of options for my vegan friend and staff were happy to adapt the menu for her requirements when requested. Strawberry milkshake was delicious. I will definitely be coming back here. Thank you ☺️
Fantastic family run place for brunch. Some dishes are substantial and may require a doggy bag! I had the classic eggs benedict and it was great, with thing parna style ham rather than the often used thicker ham. Definitely worth a visit.
Terrific little cafe right in the heart of Tilehurst Reading England. Great breakfast, good coffee, friendly and awesome service all around. Thanks to the lovely young lady who served us, what a darling. Thanks for a great start to the day.
The Switch was recommended and it was not a let down. The milk shakes were to die for, and the food delicious. Staff were friendly and happy to chat although they were busy. Good value for money definitely going back. Parking was a bit difficult as Tilehurst was busy.
This was the best breakfast I've had! I had the duck eggs and chorizo on sourdough and my partner and I split a loaded hash browns. I had a "yellow one" smoothie too and every last bite was unbelievably delicious. If you love breakfast, you HAVE to try this place!
Can't believe we've lived here over a year and have only just discovered this place. We wanted breakfast and it didn't disappoint - the full English was top notch. A mighty fine cup of tea, too. We couldn't resist trying an Oreo milkshake, which was divine - I intend to try all of the different flavours. Had a bite of my partner's burger and it was heavenly - like Five Guys only even better, somehow! Service was excellent and fast - burger and chips and a full English, plus two shakes and tea, all served within 12 mins of ordering. We will absolutely be back very soon, can't wait to sample more of your delicious food.
