What a wonderful experience! This was our first time dining under the new ownership, and we were thoroughly impressed. From the moment we walked in, the staff and landlady made us feel right at home with their delightful demeanor and top-notch service. The food was truly fantastic, exceeding our expectations and confirming what the locals had been raving about. Plus, the sensible pricing was a welcome bonus. Our group of four can't wait to come back!
Met a friend and wanted a quiet corner to chat. Had a nice meal - both had shared starters (inc the loaded sweet potatoes skins) and then fish and chips - great mushy peas which I normally leave. Atmosphere was good - we could easily hear one another speak which is rare for many eateries nowadays.
My 2 sons and husband took my mother and I to the Horse and Groom for a Mother’s Day lunch. We had a wonderfully cooked roast dinner. The roast potatoes were perfectly crunchy, the meat tender and veggies spot on. Thank you Emma and Dan.

Visited for the first time under the new(ish) management. Beer was excellent, service was friendly, and I liked the new decor. Didn't try the food, but will return to do so.
Really warm and welcoming, lovely homely atmosphere. They were fantastic and gave our little girl a free ice cream as it was her birthday, such a lovely touch, will definitely be back here!
