Pub was very quiet, which we like. The food was good and well priced but the service was excellent. The young lady was attentive and very pleasant. Will return to try more dishes.

We enjoyed a fantastic meal out for my birthday. The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. I was really impressed with the quality of the food. It looked incredible and tasted just as good. I would definitely visit here again and would be quick to recommend to others. Points to note: Signs saying ‘Dog friendly’. Water bowls available for dogs in the garden. The parking area is small but there were plenty of spaces available on a Friday night when we went. Just worth thinking about if you have multiple vehicles in your party. Maybe worth car sharing where possible. Lovely large garden with plenty of tables in the sun or a shaded seating area.

This is a hidden gem in the area. Unassuming from the outside as it looks like an old pub but the food is amazing! Prices are similar to the hotels in the area but the food is 100 times better. It’s a must try and you won’t be disappointed.

We came here for a late lunch and found ourselves with a fantastic fish pie. The menu was not very extensive, but quality rules over quantity. They have a large partly covered outdoor area which made the outdoor eating very enjoyable. They seemed a bit understaffed, but service was quick and friendly. We will be back

Went for a weeknight dinner, I've not been for a few years and it's definitely much improved! Food was great and really well presented, service really friendly. Food came out much quicker than I expected given the fancy presentation. Free bread rolls were served, it was a nice touch but we didn't really need them as the portion sizes were great. There were not many vegetarian options. Vegans would struggle to find anything exciting. That being said, the mushroom cannelloni (pictured) was a really lovely dish and I would recommend it to anyone. Gammon egg and chips was really good, and a huge portion. Desserts were beautifully presented and delicious. My only recommend to the pub is - get a door closer for the gents toilet, as the door was ajar throughout our meal.

Lovely looking roadside pub. Nice feel to the the place Inside. Decorated quite nicely. We went in on a Sunday lunch. Apparently all they do on a Sunday is a roast dinner. The roast was a tad disappointing. It took almost 45 minutes to arrive. The presentation was nice on the plate. But the roast potatoes were undercooked. I had the Pork, and it was slices of packet pork, as it was from a supermarket! Heavily overcooked which made it chewy and dry. The rest of the food was quite reasonable! The beef was to a pretty good standard. All in all an OK experience, but won't be rushing back for a roast.

Went here yesterday for our Christmas meal, it was such flavourful food that was tastefully presented. I had the Haddock Fishcake, Turkey Roast and the Cherry and Chocolate mountain. All were delicious. Plus we were presented with warm bread before and mince pies after. A real treat. Would come back here again. I have been before it changed hands and the new owners have really made something special.

Had a lovely meal here yesterday early evening with some of my family, split across two tables to adhere to social distancing rules! Not been before, but it was close to an event we attended near Newbury just beforehand so thought we would give it a try. I'm so glad we did! Marco and his staff very very welcoming, friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The food was delicious and extremely well presented and at reasonable prices. Everyone in our party commented on how good it was and how much they enjoyed it. I would definitely come back again.

Phoned for a reservation and advised food served from 6 pm. Got a very warm welcome from staff. Shown to table. As well as menu's given, there is a great selection of specials on a blackboard that is brought to table. We had main courses, desserts and coffee afterwards. The food was excellent and ate it all. When I asked if we could have cream with our coffee instead of milk - no problem. We had a nice relaxed evening in a lovely homely pub and our stomachs were full. Well recommend a visit to all. 8th February 2020 - under new management Got a very warm welcome and noticed new decor. Food was FANTASTIC and took photos. Look forward to next visit.
