We stopped for lunch in this proper cosy pub with a thatched roof and log burning stove in the heart of the beautiful New Forest just before Christmas. There were locals propping up the bar (always a good sign), the staff were really friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. Highly recommended.
Absolutely beautiful traditional old pub! The Landlord is very lovely and so accomadating, we were early but even tho the pub was very busy he managed to give us a lovely table much before our booking. The food was fantastic, we had fish and chips and it was very very good, and a hearty portion. Can't fault the waiting staff either, attentive and polite but don't bother you whilst your eating. I would highly recommend a visit, its a gem of a pub! ❤️
Had a lovely meal here at 4.30 on a Saturday afternoon. Beautifully cooked burger for me and chicken, ham and leek pie for my wife. The pie came with a very generous portion of fresh, seasonal veg and mash. A delicious, rich sticky, toffee pudding for dessert, finished off a fantastic meal. The staff were helpful, friendly and attentive. Had a great laugh with one of the servers. PS We enjoyed yesterday's meal so much we came back the following day! A warm welcome and a laugh with the staff, especially Evie, and another beautifully cooked, generously portioned meal. I had to have the burger again. My wife had the roast pork belly, faultless, apparently!
Fantastic pub! Loads of seating in the driveway, homemade food with seasonal English vegetables! Couldn’t recommend more. Staff are friendly, helpful and happy.

Went here for the first time the other day and now will be our go to. Lovely food. Lovely deco. Lovely staff. Can not fault in anyway! Could have sat and ate and drank all day there!
We stayed here overnight in the Bell tents in the rear paddock. Staff were lovely and food was great. There was a live band on while we were there which was an added bonus. The bell tents are great. Plenty of room and equipped with a double bed, bedding and tables and chairs. Outside there were picnic tables and the opportunity to have a fire pit. Sharing a field with sheep and donkeys was great fun. Loved this place.
Lovely place to visit. Friendly staff, welcoming, interesting photos etc on the walls, didn't ask about them but am assuming the history of the pub and its surroundings The area that surrounds the place is gorgeous, we met a couple of ponies and a lovely piggy too just up the road. Will definitely be going again and maybe sample the food menu next time too.
We came here for a large event with about fifty of us and this hidden gem was absolutely amazing! I'm not sure if we had an event menu rather than the usual but all the food was very tasty, well presented and cooked to perfection. We were served quickly and the staff were very friendly and lovely. I didn't manage to get many photos because I was too busy scoffing my face but I also had the baked camembert and my partner had a steak pie which were both beautiful. Would definitely come here again and recommend to anyone. A big thank you to all the staff for taking such great care of us!
