This has to be the best shoe shop in Winchester, I had a very positive experience there. The staff are really helpful, and the boots I bought were just what I didn’t know I was looking for ☺️. Beautifully made in quality soft leather and perfect heel height…. and sooo comfortable; I couldn’t decide on the green or tan, so I bought both!
The actual boots made (and continue to make) my experience great. I bought from the Winchester High Street store (Sunday Sept. 28, 2025). The shop was empty (probably because they are pricey shoes) and I got both assistants to myself. I had been eyeing the shoes/boots from the window for several months (because I am not an impulse-buyer) and when I was ready to buy a pair, I decided to start there. WHAT A SMART DECISION. The service was good enough, and I walked out with 2 pairs of boots (one black, one burgundy/pink), and a care kit to go with them (which, for the record, I never succumb to buying). They are THE MOST COMFORTABLE footwear I have ever worn. They are Italian leather, inside and out, and you can really tell the difference – they are like a second skin. I wore one pair right out of the shop. I haven't had so much as a pinch from them. The fit was perfect (I have hard feet to shop for: I wear size 3.5/4 UK or 5-6 US, have a very wide foot, and high arches and insteps). The sole is 'springy' so no sore feet or tired joints, and they are totally non-slip but not in a 'trippy' way. The leather has been soft and supple from day one, and my feet breathe well in them. Cannot recommend these shoes enough. I normally buy brands like Clarks and Ecco, and I'm not averse to spending money on something that is comfortable and long-lasting. Next time I have to buy shoes, I will start at Carl Scarpa.
It's a great store with great service. The consultants are very knowledgeable about shoes. I bought boots for my wife, I think it's a great Christmas gift
Bough a beautiful pair of ankle boots. Reduced from £199 to £95! Not bad for leather boots. Really lovely shop and staff were so helpful. Thank you!
