Lovely looking pub. Looks like money has been spent on the decor and it is has been completely renovated. Appreciated the spaced out tables so that you could have a conversation without disturbing those around you. I was intrigued to book this pub with its sticker of β€œbest roast” to see whether it was in fact true. For me, it was a decent roast. The food was nice, however, I didn’t feel that it deserved a Β£34 price tag. When other roasts are bordering Β£20 I would happily pay high Β£20s here as I feel that reflects the quality of food we were served. Β£34 is too much. We had a similar feeling with pudding. Sticky toffee pudding, tasting lovely, but Β£15 for dessert is too much. Overall lovely food and I’m all up for paying a premium but Β£120 for two people is too steep I have therefore deducted a star accordingly. I wish the owners the best but we will not be returning soon

Came here with the family and the food was absolutely amazing, especially the cod tartlet and the venison. Also thoroughly enjoyed the monkfish and the staff were lovely.

I reviewed The Plough a couple of months ago and said my wife and I would be coming back, and last night we did. I had the fish and chips again to see if it was as good as I remembered...and it was - so congratulations. My wife had curried pumpkin soup, well seasoned and now on her social media posts as she is a bit of a soup nut. She followed that with the risotto. I bookended my fish and chips with slow cooked ox cheek (very nice). Don't get confused when you see this at Β£18, it is a starter size, but everymouthful a gem, and Baked Alaska for dessert, which was probably the star of the evening. The service here is great, everyone friendly but also on top of their game. We'll be back!

Had a great Sunday lunch here, the pub and the gardens have been recently renovated and was beautifully done. The staff were polite and attentive. The food was lovely, but we did find the bill a bit on the hefty side, however we had seen the prices before we booked, so wouldn't take a star off for this. There were three of us, we had: one sharing platter starter for two, three x roast beef, two cocktails, and a pint an a half of draft larger- Β£195

My husband and I ate here while out hiking recently and thought it was a pleasant experience. We were warmly welcomed and seated without a prior reservation which we appreciated. The staff were attentive and polite and took our order for both drinks and food. The interior is nicely decorated and they had some live musicians playing which was nice and not too loud so we could still enjoy conversation with the background music. I did find myself feeling quite cold towards the end of our meal. The drinks were lovely and arrived quickly. We did wait considerably longer for our food to arrive and although the food was nice, it wasn’t outstanding for the price. We felt the portions of vegetables I.e one half of a carrot and a spoonful of kale with the mushroom wellington dish wasn’t particularly good value and the density of the oyster mushroom made it difficult to eat. My husband who is a self proclaimed burger connoisseur felt the burger was okay but again, nothing spectacular. He was also not impressed with the halved baby gem lettuce that was sold as a Caesar salad. There was no mention that it would have anchovies on, which he isn’t keen and probably would not have ordered/asked that they not be included had he been aware. Overall we spent near Β£100 for two drinks, two main dishes plus two sides and left still hungry which was quite the disappointment.

Awesome evening. Imaginative dishes, all executed brilliantly. The indoor space is very stylish, warm and welcoming, and all the staff were very friendly. Cute bar area too. Outdoor space has been remodelled and looks great, and the carpark is also now much more convenient. Our first visit back since Ruth and the team had it as the Plowden Arms, it was special then - it's special once again and we look forward to many more visits. Well done.

Was so exiceted to see that is open after a long refurbishment went there for a quick drink and a small bite, and what can I say ..they did a great job in here, place looks amazing and you can tell they didn't compromise on quality. Food menu looks great and after tasting some nibbles I can't wait to come back for a proper meal . They have also a private dining area at the second floor, but I think the best part of this pub will be the garden area which is huge and looks amazing. I've seen they will have an outdoor kitchen and barbecue , great stuff will be cooked there for sure.

High quality and thoughtful refurbishment that offers an exciting, diverse menu. We all enjoyed our meals and the accompanying selection of drinks. We are excited about it in the summer as it boasts a huge garden area. Expect it will become a family favourite.

The service was impeccable and the atmosphere was great however the food was not cooked properly and extremely overpriced. Lunch came to over 75 pounds for a tea a small wine and two fish n chips which where child size. The portion of cod was about the same size as two fish fingers. The fish was barley cooked and the peas like bullet's. any pub cook would spot this let alone a high end chef so serving that shows the chef's don't care . I would have spoken to the owner (who seems like a very nice man) and complained on the day however this was meant to be a belated Christmas treat for my mother and didn't want to spoil the day. It's a shame as it's on my door step and looks perfect to take clients to for a business lunch.

Exceptional food and excellent refurbishment! This turned out to be their second evening after reopening and we were hugely impressed. Considering the quality of the food, the pricing was extremely reasonable. I really hope that people support this wonderful new addition to Henley.
