Very nice gammon & mustard sandwich on white bread, with salad and chips. Nice relaxing atmosphere. Nice tables and chairs.

One of the BEST pub fish and chips you will have. The Sunday roast is absolutely mega too and if you are feeling hungry the pie of the day is an absolute belter. Jane, Tanya and the staff are always friendly and its a beautiful space with lovely open fires and a quieter space for those that need it at the top of the pub. Lovely garden in the summer too - would highly recommend.

My wife and I had a fabulous Sunday lunch here today, thanks to the delightful Jane, the owner and cook who has been here for over 30 years. Jane, Johnny and the other friendly staff could not have been more accommodating or helpful. Everything was home cooked and prepared to order. The traditional roast lamb served with a large selection of trimmings, the whitebait and haddock fish cakes were all of top quality and simply delicious. This was a truly outstanding meal in cosy surroundings with nice music, with the best pub food that we can ever remember. We recommend strongly and will be visiting regularly from now on.

Great stay. Nice room. Tasty food and overall charming place. Breakfast was a treat, especially the selection of fresh berries. Only downside was no hot water in the room and our check-in lady was not really welcoming. All other staff serving us in the evening and morning very friendly. A nice stay overall.

Great food and great service. Don’t know Wargrave or people in living here so couldn’t get a recommendation from anyone. The other reviews were positive so took a chance and was really pleased. I can recommend the Salt & pepper squid bites to start and the burger as a main. I was too full for dessert. Only thing I would have liked was if the decaf coffee wasn’t instant. Would recommend.
