Once a year we try the food hoping it improves due to its fantastic location. Food is fine provided you pick well (stick with the classics). The ok food is let down by the complete lack of interest shown by the service staff. A shame for a pub that could be amazing.

I’m n of the few pubs in town, so not much choice, but my visit here was poor. Sunday’s roasts were advertised as 12-5, but we were told we had to eat by 3 or too late. The food was standard, heaped high in plate to be fair but the cauliflower was frozen in the middle, not defrosted before being covered in white sauce I imagine. The landlord was gruff as the best compliment. Wanted us out of the bar before closing, no morning hello for breakfast. Felt an inconvenience despite paying high price to stay. Also only one tea bag in a double room. Wouldn’t go again

I really enjoyed a meal here last week as I was passing through the area of Goring. I was amongst a group of six and were given a table without a prior reservation. The staff are really pleasant and attentive. I ordered from the Pizza menu and decided on the four cheese pizza which was incredible as my picture shows! It tasted amazing!

My girlfriend and I loved our stay at The Miller of Manfield, in October. Breakfast was fantastic, the staff were super helpful and friendly, going above and beyond to make us comfortable. We loved the room, the retro-modern decor, the fantastic bathtub and the location, in the village. The pub and restaurant were also great places to come in the evening, with live music one night of our stay and a good atmosphere throughout.

We came back to this lovely place for the second time in one month (first time under old management certain things went wrong) - so thought we would come back and give it another ago. Under new management, Elle & Imogen were fantastic and really looked after my partner & I. If anything wasn't right, the service recovery was on point. The entire team were very friendly and the quality of the stay was fabulous. We absolutely loved our room; the giant bath is awesome, great amenities, clean room, super comfortable bed and a wonderful breakfast included. We have all the faith that Elle & her team are going to make this place even better than it was and we really really look forward to coming back again in the future. 10/10/

Having been four times since under new management - each time hoping for improvement- sadly things don’t seem to get better despite feedback. Staff don’t have appreciation of service. Few manners and diy approach for guests. Again items run out but not told on ordering. Lack of attention to detail. Food given without cutlery, condiments requested but not given. Then whilst all the staff sat at bar - including manager- asked if we wanted the bill rather than anything else (2130) and not once asked how food was ! Candles not lit etc too many things wrong that are simple to rectify yet the simple lack Of appreciation of what good looks like. Lee is a barman. And sadly lovely perhaps but not ware of service. Simon a good chef but not running a quality establishment

We came here to see where George Michael lived. The village is really pretty with shops, post office, church and lovely places, pubs restaurants to eat and have a drink. We went into The Miller of Mansfield where George Michael used to go. He used to sit in the corner where they now have a picture of him on the wall. We chose the homemade steak and ale pie with vegetables and chips served with gravy, also the chicken and leek pie with vegetables and chips served with gravy. The pies were delicious and very filling. No room for pud which was a shame. The service was excellent and the waiter made sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend the food and drink here it's just fabulous. This is a hotel as well so you can book a room. Goring is a beautiful place for a visit, full of charm.
