   Took my VW Sharan in today (Feb 25th) for an MOT, oil, filter and bulb change. As usual the lads at ATS Basingstoke Rd, Reading couldn’t have been more helpful, honest, fair priced and did a good job. Have been coming here for a couple of years now with both my cars and can honestly say, I’ve never had to complain about anything. Always a professional service from these Mechanics/Enginners.

   I feel I was unfairly charged £159.59 for a wheel alignment, especially since I wasn’t given a printout showing the before-and-after adjustments. When I asked about this, I was told the software timed out and couldn’t print the report. I’m sceptical of this explanation, but I chose not to question the issue further as I had already waited nearly two hours due to a customer complaint about previous work done at ATS which delayed the mechanic working on my car as he constantly had to answer people at reception and then go back to be working on my vehicle. Overall, my experience was disappointing. Given that competitors like Kwik Fit offer similar services for a much lower price, I’m left feeling dissatisfied. If people who are reading why so much money for a wheel alignment as I opted to get the camber adjustment which is not included in the standard wheel alignment price only toe in/toe out is which I'm fine as I understand this however, there’s no evidence to show that the camber was actually adjusted.

   I was hesitant after seeing so many bad reviews but decided to give them a chance anyway (ATS branches everywhere else seem to have a good rating so let’s chance it why not). They swapped two tyres out for me, and I was in and out within half an hour. The lads are brilliant. No fuss, no upsell, great service.

   I took my car in to get the middle Section of the exhaust replaced as this part has gone. I had the front end replaced last year in Nay 2023, less than a year ago. They tried to say I needed this replacing as well ! I’m fuming and argued this so they didn’t do it but told me that it can corrode if it’s cheap metal and that they could try and salvage it!!!! I know an exhaust lasts anywhere from 3-5 years. I am fuming they tried to rip me off because I’m a women. How many people do your mechanics rip Off??? Disgusting service ! I will never use you again. I’m fed up of men thinking us women are stupid and thinking it’s okay to treat us this way and try and rip us off as we don’t know anything! Total rip off merchants avoid at all costs unless you want to be treated the same way! Just about money not actually being genuine to help the customer. This is why I now only ever use an independent trust worthy garage. Never again would I trust these charlatans ! Disgusting that your company treats its customers that way I will be putting this on Facebook and making this public! I’m fuming you should be ashamed! Further update… I contact support as the reply on here suggested an absolute waste of my time they sided with the mechanic who claimed that the part was rusty and they had been honest. So I went and got an independent inspection from the garage who fitted the exhaust ATS claimed was rusty and they showed me underbid at that there was no rust at all, proving ATS lied and tried to roll me off. Further more then showed me that the part ATS fitted was poor workmanship as used different size screws and a different number of washers. I went back to ATS complaints and showed them proof with photos that I was lied to and they never bothered even replying.! Be very wary of using this company they are a complete disgrace and I will be now reporting them to trading standards. Avoid at all costs if you want your be ripped off an did they do try and charge you extra for work they say needs doing, please get this checked with an independent garage before parting with money as they they have proved now they too you off an lie to get money out of you. A disgraceful and untrustworthy company. AVOID !!!!! Below is the part they say is rusted! Where is the rust!!!! Scammers-BEWARE

   I don’t know why there are so many bad reviews, considering my experience was excellent. The store manager, KARTIK, provided professional and hassle-free service. He is patient with each customer and arranges the service efficiently. The wheel alignment was good, and there was no forced sale or attempt to sell unnecessary services. I have been in Whitley for 10 years, and this was the most time-efficient and satisfactory tire and wheel alignment I’ve experienced compared to other tire shops.

   Don’t ever book with these providers. You cannot trust them to book MOT as they can cancel anytime and you will have to go through the hassle of finding and booking again! Time wasters!

   Would have given it 0 star if I could order 2 tyres on Thursday 23rd of Feb to be fitted on Monday 27th of Feb for 830am on the way to the centre at 8am got a call while driving to there from reading ats gave me some lame excuses saying that there internet is down so that they did not received my order so they can't fit it for me so I ask what can they do for me they said they won't be able to fit anything for me today as this is 8am in the morning they still have the whole day to find a solution for me but sadly no help at all ask for refund and yet still waiting for refund not happy at all !!!

   To begin with my 19 yr old daughter was ignored while they carried on with their conversation about the weekend. When she politely made her presence known their response was gruff and prickly as we had a Groupon voucher. Poor communication, wasted time, excuses for delays put on us. If you dare to challenge the engineer has a hissy fit and storms off. To be called a liar you were not told something you absolutely were and again lies from them about repairs and costs. I’d never go back. This review can’t convey how horrible our experience was and how inappropriate their attitude and behaviour was to two females. I’m no wall flower and will challenge inappropriate behaviour which made the engineer more frustrated, so silence was the only way to diffuse the situation and leave as quickly as possible. Bullies, rude, inappropriate behaviour! Never will I go back

   ATS what bunch of robbers. I went there told them my dash light had come on & needed some new pads fitted.. the fella replied have you had a quote. I said no. All I want is some new pads fitted. He replied with well we'll have to measure the discs because if they've blown then we canfit the pads .. why i just wants some 'pads fitted. So already he's looking for an excuse to charge me more money. & he hasn't even looked at my vehicle yet.. why can't anyone do what you ask for anymore... always looking to rip u off...
