I really wanted to like it here - I went for a special occasion and we had the afternoon tea, and it seemed perfect to start with - historic vibes with RAF memorabilia on the walls and proper thin China tea cups for our tea. On the positive side, they serve a full gluten free afternoon tea, which is great. We emailed in advance so that they knew we were coming and not to risk them running out of gluten free bread or something (itβs happened before!) The tea was proper good loose leaf tea and lovely little tea cups, which I really enjoyed, and overall the food was good. The sandwiches and scones I had for the βnormalβ tea were delicious and there were masses of jam and cream to go with them. Sadly there were small things which just marred the experience a bit, leading to the 3 star review. The gluten free tea only only came with one scone, while the βnormalβ one came with two, which seemed unfair as the scones were the same size. The gf scone was also super crumbly, falling apart every time it was lifted up. The three sponge cake bites were alright but all kind of tasted the same and not particularly of any flavour. Sad when there were some fantastic looking cakes on the counter. There were plenty of empty tables but our reserved table was directly in front of the open door, meaning that it was a bit damp and everyone coming and going walked right past us. We only had one set of culterly between us and when we tried to ask for another it took a long time to get the attention of anyone as all four staff were chatting intently in the kitchen area. All just little things, but they added up We were also charged more than the website had said when we looked the day before - apparently they had just changed their menus that week, which is happens and while it was only Β£3.50 more per person, the cost already was that of something special and basically while alright, it was not special enough to be worth the cost.

If you're visiting Winchester you have to visit this place. As you walk up the main shopping street you'll see signs for Parchment Street which is where a number of really nice shops and cafes are located and Audrey's is definitely one of them. The place is much bigger on the inside than it appears from on the street with a number of different rooms available. We just had a light lunch, but if you're feeling inclined you could go the whole hog and have a full afternoon tea. Our neighbouring table had this and it looked amazing. We only wished we had more time to come back and sample this but that will have to be for another Winchester trip.. Our food came out quickly and was as delicious as we expected. The owner (don't know if this was Audrey) was delightful and even gave us a number of recommendations for places to see when we were heading off to our next stop in the New Forest. Definitely a place to visit if you are ever in Winchester.

Today we visited Audreyβs Tea Rooms for an afternoon tea to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. The detail that went into the set up was amazing. Ruth had gone out of her way to make sure there was a clock hanging above our heads in recognition of one year being married. She also had set the table up with the beauty and the beast rose and garland and prosecco glassesβ¦Beauty and The Beast is my absolute favourite Disney film ever!!!! The food was fresh, super tasty and there was so much of it I had to take a cake home to enjoy for later. Absolutely outstanding and would recommend anyone visiting Winchester to visit. Thank you so much for making our special day perfect!!!!

We hired the upstairs of Audreys for my sister in laws hen party. Ruth went out of her way to accommodate us, regularly checking we were happy and if there was anything they could do to help. She even went out to Robert Dyas to buy a fan as it was an unseasonably hot day! She catered to our individual dietary requirements and i donβt think there was anything else she could have done to make it more of a success. The food was amazing and plenty of it (she even gave us boxes to take leftovers home). Highly recommend x

Nice little tea room in Winchester, away from the busy high street. We had a lovely quick lunch and cream tea here. The loose tea earl grey was very good, so were the fruit scones. Sandwich and soup were simple but hearty. The coleslaw that came with the sandwich was freshly made and delicious. Very pleased that we found this place.

Popped in to Frieda's tearoom a couple of times during a recent trip to Winchester. I had poached eggs and spinach on muffins for breakfast which was quite substantial. I later popped in to try the home made cakes. I had the carrot and almond which was delicious. Very friendly staff make you feel very welcome...highly recommended.

My wife and I had a wonderful breakfast at 'Frieda's' yesterday. We were welcomed with a lovely smile from Senem who served us attentively and with great charm, ably supported by Molly. The cafΓ© has a very friendly atmosphere, the customers all talked and laughed with each other. A very refreshing experience in this day and age. We had the full English breakfast which arrived promptly, was hot, tasty and good value. The coffee was great too! All in all a fantastic little place tucked down a side street off the main road. Go and find it!

Went on a trip to Winchester with my friends and came across this cute cafe along the way. Such a nice and cosy spot to sit and relax alongside a delicious piece of cake and a range of different types of tea. Incredibly kind, generous and lovely owners and staff. Thank you for a lovely experience and will definitely come back for the glutenfree brownies :)

Very cozy place, with nice decoration! The food was really good and the service was polite. The reason I am rating with 3 stars only is that they close at 5pm and we were finishing our coffee around 4h50pm and they started to say that they were closing, asking us to pay and making us feel a bit uncomfortable, since we were finishing our coffee and tea. We felt like they were saying "Get out of here!". It was a bit strange for us, but ok. We would be back (not close to 5pm anymore) because we really liked the food and the place.
