Fantastic pub – cozy and charming, especially with the fire going. My wine was very good and the ladies serving were so lovely. Perfect spot for a relaxed evening!
The epitome of a British pub, set in a charming building with wooden floorboards that have warped over the centuries. A delightful place to sit in an armchair by the fire. The two ladies behind the bar were so friendly and welcoming. One word of warning: at 6'8" tall there were very few places where I could stand upright, but that's to be expected in a building of this age!
Absolutely beautiful little spot. Beer selection is modest, but both ales tried were local and well kept. The building itself is the star - one of the cosiest ancient pubs I've visited. Well worth a trip out of your way
I want expecting much having been disappointed on a previous visit (beer past it's best). Was happily surprised to see the pub buzzing - 4 ales on, the 3 I tried all in excellent condition, great Thai food (a regular feature) & live music downstairs. Good mix of locals, tourists & music lovers.
A proper pub. Probably one of the nicest pubs I've been in. Very traditional with a great atmosphere. Couple of great real ales on tap.. Excellent.
Excellent little pub. Small but homely. Friendly landlady, excellent choice of beers. Lots of live music and music sessions.
I think this place can be accurately described as unspoiled. It is a time machine that will transport you 100s of years into the past. It's great. I had a pint of Pots from the local Flower Pots Inn at Cheriton. Salted nuts are also good value.
Lovely little old fashioned pub. Decent selection of ales, plenty of interesting stuff dotted around, open fire in the cold weather and friendly staff. I can see why it’s rated so highly among so many users.
Genuine community pub with a great grassroots music venue. Superb local ales, dog friendly, human friendly.
Lovely old pub with a real open fire, low ceilings, varied bitter / ale offering, friendly staff and an arrangement that you can order and eat your takeaway for a small charge. Looks much nicer on the inside. Definitely worth a visit
