There is a reason for only 3 stars. 4 of us had the full afternoon tea. It was lovely and no complaints at all. Lovely food and good value. We were sat outside because we had dogs. Not a problem and we were given blankets as it was really cold, a nice touch. We were drinking a lot of tea to keep warm and were given more hot water but eventually the tea bags in the pots ran out. We asked for a couple more tea bags which we got. When we came to pay the bill, we were charged £5.50 extra for 2 Breakfast Tea. To be clear, we only got 2 tea bags. This was not a great look given that tea bags are about 3p each and we had spent £20 each for the cream tea!!! Yes, we would possibly go back, but really!!! Lastly, If you look at their website, it does say "Refilled tea is included" so I am happy to be accept a £5.50 credit note.

Just wanted to say a big thank you for a fantastic experience at Croots Farm yesterday. I took my wife and our two children (aged 4 and 6) to see Carl and the animals — and wow, we weren’t sure what to expect, but it turned out to be absolutely brilliant. Carl was amazing — so gentle and patient with our kids, who are both slightly autistic. He made them feel completely at ease, and they were totally engaged the whole time. It was heartwarming to see how much they enjoyed it. We finished off with a delicious hot chocolate and some cake in the café, which was the perfect end to a lovely afternoon. The kids have already asked if we can come back again on Wednesday — and we absolutely will! Thanks again for such a memorable visit.

Visited the farm shop for the first time during there 2025 Open Farm Sunday just for something to do and it really impressed. There was such a wide range of food and the staff were very knowledgeable about where all the products came from. No wonder they have won awards the meat counter was stunning alpng with such a variety of local produce at prices I would say to be worth every penny. Well worth a visit we will definitely be visiting again.

I've been going to Croots for many years now but not been recently so popped along this morning. All there stuff is so tasty. Friendly staff. Their award winning sausages are really good in a toad in the hole. So much lovely stuff in their deli section. Highly recommended Also its a unique shopping experience often having to wait for sheep to move off the road on your drive up to the farm shop, you don't get that at your supermarket LOL.

We really love Croots farm shop. My toddler loves it and the staff couldn't be more accommodating. We often pop in for a cream tea and a pizza and chips and the staff always let us sit near the big windows so my little one can look out over the fields at the animals and the tractors. There's always colouring books, crayons and stickers to keep her entertained while we wait for our food as well. The place is spotlessly clean and the food and drink is fantastic. All the staff are wonderful as well. Would definitely recommend to everyone. There's something for everyone too and the shop part always has something nice in that you can treat yourself or someone else to something a little bit special.

I've passed this farm shop/cafe many times and I visited today for the first time. Produce in the shop is outstanding and good value. The cafe is a little small and booking could be essential at times. Food is excellent but a little expensive, but what the heck every now and then. Hot food is only cooked till 2pm but scones and cakes can be bought after this time. Large car park, toilets and friendly staff. On busy days the driveway could get a little crowded as it's one way with lay-bys. The views from the cafe inside and outside are fantastic. Enjoy your visit

Called in on a Monday early afternoon for something to eat, luckily we were a group of two so they managed to get us in because every table had been reserved.... which I found odd considering the day and time. The food, a bacon and egg and a sausage and egg cob were nice; however, these and two drinks came to just over £16.... expensive, although not unexpected. The shop itself is nice and bright with a fairy wide range of products, in all fairness you'll be able to get some products at a supermarket for less; however, other products are really only available at places like this. Without a doubt the butcher's is the standout feature with a great range of products and cuts of meat, the sausages are superb quality and worth the trip on their own. Overall it's nice with the butcher's being excellent, just be aware that some items are expensive and probably available in supermarkets for less.

Beautiful place to visit. There is a long driveway, where you pass horses and foals, sheep and lambs in fields. There is car parking available. This is a popular place. We stopped for cream tea and the selection shown was gluten free. There is also a little farm shop, complete with fresh bakes and other items for sale. Worth the visit

We spent an age in here, chatting to the very friendly and helpful staff. I loved the butchers section the most, not cheap but the quality looked top notch. We had one of their beef Teriyaki's that evening, the stewing steak in it melted in the mouth. Better than a lot of steaks I've had. We finished off our visit with coffee & large wedges of cake in the cafe. The site sits on a hill top with broad open views for miles around. Well worth the 40 mile round trip, we will be back, if only for stocking up for a special occasion.
