Avoid if you can. They are a lot more expensive than other autocentres and offer no help when they screw up. They lost my locking wheel nut after a tyre check and service and denied it ever happening. Their dodgy manager attempted to fleece me of £40 under the guise of "we'll split the costs together". Not really worth the trouble if I'm being honest. You're better off getting your car fixed elsewhere.

Absolutely shocking MOT experience. On the 20th of October, after my car failed its MOT mainly due to the exhaust Halfords said they couldn’t fix it and told me to get the exhaust done elsewhere before rebooking. I had the exhaust replaced the next day (Tuesday 21st), but they could only book me back in for the following Monday. When I brought my car back, they oddly handed me my ignition key and said they couldn’t take it “due to company policy.” I explained that it’s an old car and has two keys, but he insisted, repeating “company policy.” I found this quite strange, but I didn’t question it at the time. Later, I got a call during a lecture saying they couldn’t start the car and couldn’t do the work, so I had to collect it and rebook again three days later. By this point, my patience was wearing thin, as Halfords isn’t easy for me to get to, and all the back-and-forth was making me late and costing me extra in Ubers. When I brought the car back again, I was told later that day that the garage who replaced my exhaust “hadn’t done a great job” and that I should take it to Kwik Fit before returning once more for the MOT retest. After getting the work done and ringing back straight away, they once again failed to communicate properly I later found out they’d rebooked my MOT without confirming the additional work (cleaning the brakes and adjusting the headlights). When I arrived on the Monday, I was told the car couldn’t be tested because it would fail automatically, so they’d have to do the work first and retest afterward. On the day, I got another call saying that cleaning the brakes hadn’t worked, and to make matters worse, my MOT retest period expired the very next day. They then offered to book a brand-new MOT for the Friday and quoted me £295 for new brakes, claiming that might make it pass. At that point, I took my car to David Lowe, who completed the MOT without issue after a simple headlight adjustment. The car passed, with only a few advisories on the brakes which are now being sorted for a fraction of Halfords’ quote. Overall, the customer service was appalling, the communication was terrible, and it honestly felt like Halfords were trying to push unnecessary work onto me while conveniently running down my MOT retest period. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.

Honestly I cant thank this garage enough! Michael was super friendly and helpful on the phone when I had a panic about my brakes (being a young girl who knows nothing about cars) he managed to squeeze me in next day as i needed my car for work the following day meaning I wouldnt be out of pocket paying for a rental car. Even on drop off and phoning prior to doing any work was quick and efficent. It didnt take long until they had completed my back rear disks and pads on the day too. I would definitley come back next time I need anything doing as it is always and like todays experience good quality service. Thankyou again!

Took my car for an MOT there and not very helpful at all. They failed me on a brake light and I asked them to change it but they said they didn’t have any time to change it and I needed to go home that day. Tried to charge me £12 to fix a new bulb. Therefore, I ended up taking it to another garage to do the change of bulb and then bringing it back the next day. Not happy with the level of service and Halfords were not pleasant over the phone. Won’t be coming back here again for an MOT.
