The most amazing hotel. Beautifully appointed. Rooms, staff, food were all absolutely faultless; perfect in every way. Breakfast comprising soft scrambled eggs with crispy bacon and sausage was simply the best I have ever had. And as for the Flat White coffee, I doubt I shall ever find a finer example.
Highly recommend for private events. Rosie, Claire and team are excellent, highly efficient and organized. They make large parties easy. We've now had two 60-80 ppl events in their private space and have zero complaints.
I decided to spend the morning working in Coppa Club Sonning as I work for myself and needed to get out of the house. I was delighted to see that there was a "working lunch" option on the menu so opted for the breakfast and unlimited drinks for £20. This is excellent value! I did feel a bit guilty though - are the staff happy with someone coming and working for the morning just ordering this? I would've stayed for lunch but I had to get back for the dog! The atmosphere was really nice and I found it was a very productive space for me to work in.
My partner and I had our wedding at The Great House in October 2025. I will talk about other things later on in the review but the absolute best thing about the venue was the service we received from everyone we interacted with so want to lead with that! Freja was incredibly responsive, helping to resolve things both in the run up to the day and on the day itself. She really kept everything running smoothly and did a brilliant job solving any issues that arose (not that there were many to begin with because it was a very slick operation overall). She was so on it on the day I felt I could properly relax and enjoy my day rather than worry about details, it was really truly appreciated. Charlie was also incredibly helpful in the run up to the day getting things sorted too. We also want to thank the rest of the staff who were working our wedding because they were all brilliant and delivered outstanding service: Clair, Emily, Zack, Jess, Max, Nathan, Naoime, Maria, Darcy, and Grainne. You all really know how to make a day incredibly special. As for the venue itself, it is beautiful. Absolutely gorgeous location and very tastefully designed. Also incredibly functional and set up in a way that they can really maximise the space they have available. The location is amazing sat right by the river with a lovely outdoor space that has shade available as well as heaters to enable it to be used in a variety of weather conditions. There's also an adorable secret garden for some quiet time. Cannot recommend it enough as a hotel and wedding venue.
Lovely rooms we have stayed here over weekends a few times to just be away from home which is only 25minutes drive and this place makes us feel like we are miles away. The club has lovely views. You can take a walk along The Thames. You might also just spot George Clooney if you’re lucky. Beautiful setting. The food is equally delicious.
Went here because The Swan at Streatley was fully booked up. Both hotels are Coppa Clubs, so are quite similar. The Great House is right by the Thames as well, so there's plenty of lovely walks close by. The staff were very efficient and friendly. The room was excellent. Evening meals were spot on. Brilliant stay to see the new year in.
the service is pretty poor, the music is too loud, and the food isn’t up to much. They brought the wrong food to our table (twice), and then added wrong items to our bill. I wouldn’t go back. They can’t even deliver a coffee without half of it being spilled in the saucer. Some of the rooms are by the road and so very noisy, also the smoke alarms have flashing lights and will keep you awake. Most of the staff look at you like your an inconvenience. The whole experience is awful. also we got served drinks in dirty glasses
As a family of 15 we came for Christmas Day lunch sadly it was the worst Christmas lunch I have ever had. The service was mediocre but staff were trying their best. The children’s meals came late and not at all appetising for a child.The soup was warm served on cold plates, the main meal was cold and very over cooked the Turkey was hardly real Turkey. The potatoes not roast but some overcooked sauté as were the sprouts. They forgot to cook my son in laws order. As for the brandy butter on the Xmas pudding it was a clarified puddle of grease. We had to go as the restaurant was closing before all of the deserts could be served. Sadly never again
