Very rude girl, Mica (shift manager apparently) was talking on the phone looking at me up and down whilst I was waiting for age confirmation at self checkouts. Decided to help, not even a hello, how can I help, nothing. Not a word. Very rude

Look XENOPHOBIA! The worst Lidl. The worst team. I am an immigrant, I speak little English, communication takes a long time and they are not patient when I need to communicate, they are hostile. My son is autistic and always gets very excited when we are in supermarkets. Even with identification, we are harassed with a store security guard following us throughout the store, the entire time until we pay and when leaving the store. Last time, today 05/09/23 , I was paying for a purchase of £150, it wasn't a small purchase, but they stopped me from buying eggs, as each customer could only buy 3 boxes, I wanted to pay 3 and someone else who was with me wanted to buy 3 more boxes and a wine that he went to buy. We were different people, different purchases, different cards, but they still denied me. They blocked the cashier and removed my purchases in front of me, removing the shopping cart with my things, including my personal things, without my permission. They made the situation completely embarrassing because there were many customers watching. There was no consistency, there was no justification, they just prevented me from paying for the product. I left the store crying, with everyone looking at me and a woman from the staff mocking, laughing at the situation. Only those who have experienced xenophobia know how much it hurts, realizing that we are being treated inferior to other people because we simply do not have the same nationality. There is a lack of professionalism, empathy and compliance with the law.

Stores ok if you like similar products to branded ones. Not all goods are necessarily cheaper than the normal supermarket. Usually its so busy, so choose the day and time wisely.

The best lidl around. Several years ago used the Woolston Lidl for our weekly shop. Started using Whitely after it opened up and noticed a substantial improvement. Then when hedge end opened up switched again and noticed an improvement. Recently has been running out of eggs and milk but generally good stock, good changing facilities and loos and well staffed.

I shop here for the middle aisle and the good prices. I’ve never been a particular fan of the Lidl format as I think that the service provided is of a standard that leaves a lot to be desired. The cashiers shriek at the queues when a checkout opens however this only happens when the queues extend into double figures. There are often huge swathes of the shelves that are completely empty and even basic items are frequently nowhere to be found. Many of the staff are friendly and approachable but the same amount are sullen, uninterested and at times, objectionable. This is a store that should not be relied upon for regular purchases but if things are tight financially, you can usually pick up a bargain or two on any visit. In summary, approach Lidl with low expectations and you won’t be disappointed.

It was interesting to see a 'British ' lidl. They seem to have successfully integrated British products into thier shops. The store itself is clean and the staff were friendly. There is also the chance to pick up the odd bargain. Has a large car park. See you soon.

In general, prices are quite competitive but at times they're more expensive than Sainsbury's! Check out at the tills is also quite slow - it may be midday on a Saturday but then they should open more tills.
