The lodge was filthy: dirty mouldy bathrooms, dirty toilet, kitchen full of food stains and dirty utensils/crockery, every part of the sofa stained, cobwebs and dust everywhere, stained sheets, unvacuumed floors, etc. On top of this the Fire TV stick didn't work, the WiFi didn't reach the bedrooms, there were broken tiles on the bathroom floor (one quite sharp), the dining table had a broken leg so was unstable/unusable, the sliding doors on the wardrobes didn't work and you had to wrestle the doors open. We had tired young kids so had no option but to stay a night, but the next day we requested a full refund and left. The only positive was that I didn't have to fight for a refund, they apologised and offered it without any quibbles. The owner then popped around to the lodge to apologise too as we were packing up. The faff of discovering the problems, unpacking, packing again and finding alternative accommodation ruined the first couple of days of our holiday. On reflection, I think some additional compensation would have been fair for the hassle, but at the time I was just happy to get the full refund and leave.

Just had a great visit here. 10 of us including children took our own tents and camped in the main field. A really nice vibe, children playing, adults happy, fairy lights on guy ropes at night and the glow of fire pits after dark made the stay a really good time. You donβt really need to go anywhere else, crazy golf, zip wires, bar, restaurant, shop.

Pros: - Friendly staff at the facilities and restaurant. - Nice surroundings and play area/fields at the campsite grounds. - Fun activities (8+) with a patient instructor. Cons: - Water in showers is shifting from hot to cold (children crying because of heat). - Water supply from showerhead ranges from powerful to dripping. - Guests during our week visit were very loud, up to 02.00 AM. Then at 07.00 AM the campsite gym pumps out hardstyle EDM. - Clean/Tidiness in showers and wash up facility was below standards (using the sink as garbage bin for food regularly?)

We stayed at Marwell Resort in one of the deluxe safari tents and overall, we were really impressed and would definitely return. It was our first time staying in a safari tentβweβre not big fans of traditional camping, but this was a brilliant alternative. You get all the fun of camping without the stress of being cold or missing out on a good nightβs sleep! The tent was warm, well-equipped, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. There was more than enough space, even with teenagers, and everyone really enjoyed the experience. The resort has a lovely, relaxed family atmosphere, and there are great facilities on-site. The bar and pizzeria were a nice touch, and we had excellent service from some of the more experienced staff. However, it was clear the resort is understaffedβat times, we saw the same person cleaning toilets, working behind the bar, making pizzas, and even watering plants! While they were doing their best, it highlighted a need for more support. The site was extremely busy, and this led to a few issues. Toilets regularly ran out of toilet roll and soap, and although they were clean when freshly done, they werenβt serviced frequently enough to keep up with demand. Some areas of the site are starting to look a little tired too, and would benefit from a refresh. Despite the resort being near full capacity, many activities werenβt yet running, which felt out of sync with how busy it already was. That said, the relaxed vibe of the site made for a more enjoyable break. Unlike other sites that strictly police noise or games, this one allows children to play freely. This resort has fantastic potential. With some investment in extra staff, more regular cleaning, and a few upgrades, it could be truly outstanding.

Marwell Resort is the kind of place you choose more for the people you're with than for the surroundings. Itβs clearly designed with families and social groups in mind, a decent space to relax, reconnect with nature, and enjoy time together without too many outside distractions. The local area doesnβt offer much in terms of scenic views or things to explore, and external attractions are quite limited. But if your goal is to unplug, enjoy the fresh air and take part in a few light outdoor activities, it ticks the box. Itβs not a luxury resort, but for a short break with friends or family, it does the job well. Comfortable enough, calm and focused on creating shared memories rather than big adventures.

Had a great time in the Lancaster Lodge for my 'big' birthday weekend. Well equipped lodge, lovely country views and an excellent hot tub. A small and friendly site with lots to do. Loved it.

Awesome site very close to Marwell Zoo. Also has activities on the site itself such as crazy golf. The toilets are clean, fairly modern and close to the huts. The touring site is also close in the adjacent field. They serve food including pizza most nights. They seem to have other activities there too. The cabins in the next field were wooden and look like authentic lodges.

This is a lovely venue, just not for us. First off, if you have a dog that worried about bangs, be sure not to stay here when they have the shooting activities. When i looked at the map, I assumed (Wrongly) that I would not be able to hear the gun shots from our site, we could, so just be aware of this. Ok, why only 3 starts. The entrance is very narrow and isn't obvious that you turn in left to the site, so I had to reverse back with a caravan to come into the site and come around a very narrow drive, not great if you meet another vehicle along the way. Then there are 2 narrow gates to get through, again not great if towing a caravan. The sire is large, yet they put all 4 of us in one area so we were back to back with another caravan and next door to another camper, why they did not spread us out? If camping or using the Safari tents, I would say this would be a lovely site. Toilets are large, clean and tidy. Good wash up area, plenty of bins. The Elson point could do with being a little nicer but that's not the end of the world. I guess it just feels like Caravans are an after thought we some of the set ups.

Absolutely loved this place! Firstly a lovely welcome by the staff & the owner always popping about making sure everything is ok, this I feel is what every owner should be doing ! The lodge as you opened the door spelt lovely clean & fresh & on checking it was . This resort offered lots of activities we choose the archery & thoroughly enjoyed it. Crazy golf we didn't get time for or the clay pigeons shooting but next time. The grounds are keep beautiful mainly by the owner always seeing him working taking pride in the place really nice to see. We went to the pizza night on a Wednesday we was nice just wished the restaurant was open a little more in an evening but understand it's the end of the season & it's probably not viable. We will definitely be back!

My family and I stayed here for 4 nights. My children loved the place as there was lots explore and do activity wise they especially liked the name of the bar and grill as Cooper is my sons name. Added bonus the zoo is a stones throw away from the resort. Toilets were well maintained and had all facilities needed to accommodate a trip. A very big shout out to two of the rangers who were on hand to help me when my battery had died on my car, they came within minutes and were very helpful and understanding we will return next year. Great work guys
