Do NOT use this hotel if you have a dog. I really wanted to love this hotel as I was having a couple of days break to help me recover from long COVID. Before I mention the things that prevented me from loving it I must explain that the staff were kind, well trained and thoughtful I had no problems with them whatsoever. The problems started with the research. I researched dog friendly hotels in the area and Breadsall appeared perfect, this was reinforced when I made my booking and was advised I could pay extra for a doggy package. I did check with the booking agent that there would be dog friendly areas in the hotel ( not the restaurant obviously) I was assured there would be plenty of areas we could sit and have a drink/coffee with our very well behaved dog. Unfortunately, when I arrived at the reception I was told my dog was only allowed in our bedroom, therefore meals and drinks would need to take place there however, we were free to go for walks outside. Feeling utterly unwelcome and somewhat mislead I started to cry (this has never happened before anywhere). The receptionist having empathy spoke to the manager who agreed we could use the tiny lounge off the hallway. I must reiterate the staff tried really hard to make us welcome, but the hotels policies made us feel so unwelcome and not at all valued as a customer.

Very nice hotel. The receptionist (and staff more generally) were very friendly and welcoming. The bar / restaurant / breakfast were great. The pool / gym were well sized and clean - the gym was well equipped and had a cardio side and a weights side. The bedroom was ok sized and in good condition. We received a welcome fruit bowl as a welcome gift (titanium member). There was plenty of parking (didn’t see any EV charging stations). We used the driving range for the kids (clubs provided). There was not an executive lounge / club lounge like you get at some Delta’s (e.g. Heathrow), but not a big issue as the bar was reasonably priced (the restaurant, as expected, was more expensive - but not unreasonable (e.g. burger was about £19). [As a note if the hotel read this: a club lounge with a few papers and a tea / coffee machine with a few biscuits (even with no food (like some of the IHG CP do)) would really add to this hotel, especially for their platinum members upwards.] The grounds of the hotel were nice and walkable. I would stay here again and would recommend it from my last visit.

The hotel and gardens were lovely. There were lots of things to do e.g swim, golf and walk. There was even a free hot chocolate station for kids! The rooms were a good size and were very clean. The restaurant and bar both had great food and drink service. The restaurant had lots of food choices, all of which were reasonably priced. Our waiter (Tom) was very friendly and efficient. Overall I was very happy with the hotel.

A fabulous hotel with two golf courses. There is an imposing entrance as you approach Breadsall Priory. The main hotel is surrounded by the Priory golf course. It's a testing, undulating course in a mature parkland setting, which was in excellent condition. We couldn't play the Moorlands course due to heavy overnight rain, which closed both courses on our second day. The hotel was impressive too, although it's a bit of a maze finding your room. You can get to your room without leaving the building, but the rooms are an extension of the original building, so there are lots of twists & turns & up & down stairs. My only gripe with the room was the bathroom. After having a shower, there was a pool of water by the side of the bath as the showerscreen didn't seal against it. When I mentioned it to members of our group, they'd had the same problem. Everyone commented on how good the food was. The restaurant was big enough to give everyone space without drowning out people who wanted a quiet evening. Breakfast was a buffet style with coffee & tea machines. Staff were friendly & helpful. There is also a swimming pool & spa facilities.

– Beautiful Setting, Wonderful Staff, but Rooms Need Some TLC We recently stayed at Breadsall Priory, in Room 370, and while the hotel itself is set in a stunning location, the experience was a bit mixed. On arrival, our room was really cold, and it took quite a while to warm up. The lovely Tanya came to help, but unfortunately couldn’t get the heating working — she very kindly brought us two portable heaters, which was much appreciated. The view from the room was beautiful, especially at sunrise and sunset, though it was often spoiled by condensation on the windows. Sadly, the toilet only flushed intermittently, and we often returned to find an unpleasant smell and a few flies, likely from the bathroom plugholes. The following morning, we discovered that the fridge wasn’t working, and everything we’d stored in it had perished. After a day out in a nearby village, we returned to find more flies and several ladybirds in the room — we did our best to remove them, but they seemed to keep coming back through gaps in the windows. Despite the room issues, the staff were absolutely amazing, especially Jamie , Kimberley and Charlotte, who went above and beyond to help and were a real credit to the hotel. The food was fantastic — both the inclusive and à la carte menus were excellent. The grounds and scenery are truly lovely, and once you get your bearings, the walks around the property aren’t too bad at all. Overall, it’s a beautiful hotel with wonderful staff and great food, but it’s in need of some TLC and investment to match the prices being charged. It was very busy during our stay, so a room change wasn’t possible, but hopefully, these maintenance issues can be addressed soon — because Breadsall Priory really does have so much potential.

Paid a visit 24th till 26th. Hotel immaculate. Room massive with a bath. Spa and pool nice and clean and warm. Food was great and if you just have breakfast that’s a winner. They do a small Amount of cocktails also. Staff couldn’t do enough for you. Brill stay Now and side. Stairs, blooming stairs everywhere. On the day we left we found the lift but it’s well hidden.

Rural, and very quiet location. Accommodation is a modern, clean and warm extension to an historic building, with excellent pool and gym. Friendly staff and an excellent breakfast.

2 night stay at Breadsall Priory at the end of last week. First visited 20 years ago and it hasn't changed much - the service was as good as ever, but the room was pretty much the same as we remembered it aside from a massive flat screen tv. Could ideally do with a bit of modernisation. Breakfast was great both mornings. Not overly busy and plenty of choice. Also ate at the Cast Iron Grill and found the food was better than some of the other reviews I've read. £15 for a pretty decent burger and chips. Things get pricey if you want a steak. Leisure facilities were also good and not too busy in spite of inclement weather. Can't comment on the golf but there seemed to be plenty of people enjoying that too.

The hotel is very delapidated, a maze of corridors, loo didn't flush very well at all. At breakfast, we asked 4 members of staff for cereal bowls, not one found bowls and not one came back and told us. Would not recommend.

I will start by saying we will definitely be staying here again. I cannot sing the praises of the staff enough. The gardens were beautifully kept (a photo cannot do them justice) and the rooms were elegantly decorated with soft and comfortable furnishings. The bed was perfection. We ate at the on site restaurant Cast Iron for both breakfast and dinner and the food was faultless. The breakfast spread was great, there was a hot full English section as well as continental and I must say the sausages were so tasty. For dinner we ordered two beautiful starters followed by the Iberico pork chop and mushroom tagliatelle (which was incredible). The facilities were lovely. The hotel’s leisure spa, complete with pool, jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room, was beautifully kept and so relaxing. We did experience a couple drawbacks during our stay. The first being a 30 minute wait for our drinks to come at dinner, by the time we received our cocktails we had already had our starters and begun the main course. This happened again with our second round of drinks which was disappointing. Secondly, although the breakfast was good, when we arrived at 10.40 all the pastries had gone, we did not fancy the 20 minute wait for more to be cooked so we went without. If breakfast is advertised to be served until 11am then it is expected that all offerings be available until such time. Aside from those small setbacks, we really did have a lovely stay here. The location is stunning and central to many places of interest. We definitely recommend a visit.
