We nipped in yesterday afternoon for a few with family, but we forgot there was a football match, so place was rammed. Couldnt get into main bar area as it was knee deep with larger louts, so decided to try rear bar, was busy aswell but not as bad. Waiting about 10 mins to get served and during that time someone decided to drop thier guts in the queue. Whoever it was i think you need to see a doctor sir! Vile stench. Apart from being gassed out, we enjoyed our visit.

Was there for the railway themed pub and it doesn't disappoint. Can get quite busy, drinks were good and sitting outside with a repainted class 37 cab definitely a highlight.

Always loved this pub but this evening the service was disgraceful. Stood and waited to be served. I don't mind waiting because I saw there was only one lady serving at the bar. We waited patiently whilst she served another customer and delivered their drinks to the table. However, when it was our turn to be served she went straight to a person she clearly knew and served them. Completely disregarding myself and my Dad. I am so disappointed because this has always been my go to pub in Derby.

Brilliant real ale pub. 7 available. Drank Castlerock preservation ale mixed with North Riding barley wine. Absolutely fantastic. Happy Days.

Has added some more handpumps since my last visit some years ago. Sadly rooms were sold out and I had to stay elsewhere. Lots of railway memorabilia all over the pub. Car park was handy too. Absolutely rammed on a match day.

A great real ale pub close to Derby station, worth the trip from other parts of the country if youβre both into real ale locally brewed and lots of train memorabilia. Helpful labels on the hand pumps to tell you what beers are locally made too.

If your a real ale fan and also into your railway memorabilia then this pub is for you. All the walls are adorned with railway signage and photos. They had 6 flat ciders on when I visited. This and the Brunswick inn next door are pubs that you have to try if your visiting derby by train. Highly recommended

Traditional pub (& hotel) with an uncommonly large selection of rotating cask ales, real ales. Fairly typical, simple but comfortable-enough interior, competent staff, neighbourhood atmosphere (unlike at the rowdier, nearby The Brunswick). This place has a good reputation among Derby real ale drinkers, and it's conveniently located close to Derby Midland Station - and thus, a 10 minute walk from the city centre. Open till late. Had some fairly good ales there, including a relatively rare can of Thornbridge Chaipur, not to be confused with Jaipur. Moderate prices.

Cracking boozer just a short walk from the railway station and handy for Pride Park (DCFC). Good range of real ales, everything we tried was in great condition too. Hearty cobs available. Ample outdoor seating including a Class 37 loco cab. Worth missing your train for.
