A catalogue of problems during our one night stay 1 The shower did not work as the mixer tap was broken This was also confirmed by a member of staff and was not fixed The water was scalding hot, very dangerous and unusable This was not an oversight on my behalf and it was confirmed by a member of their own staff 2 There is No central heating the heating is provided by a air-conditioning unit which clicks off and on during the night and desturbes your sleep blowing warm air 3 At 11.00 pm the room was quite and we were ready for a goods night sleep Then it started, The noise from the above apartment was ridiculous and went on for 1.5 hours 4 At 05.30 in the morning we were woken yet again this time it was a beer delivery The barrels were being dropped off and rolled close to the apartment door As you can imagine we could not wait to return home back for a shower and a goods night sleep When we booked it all sounded like it was going to be a relaxing stay in a lovely cottage this was definitely not the case The location is great close to the canal and walks but you are also very close to a very busy road junction and a main railway line

We held our Wedding reception at The Dragon and we reserved 5 overnight rooms at The Cottage. All of our guests said their rooms were wonderful. Our premium room was so gorgeous and clean, the bed huge and so comfortable. The bathroom was Morden and the shower was brilliant. We will definitely be booking an overnight stay for our 1st wedding anniversary next year!

This is the standard that I expect when staying at a Boutique Hotel. All others should try to attain this standard. Early check-in ✔️ Room was clean, odour-free and climate controlled ✔️ Staff were pleasant, professional, friendly and helpful ✔️ Location in East Midlands was excellent ✔️ Ample parking ✔️ Restaurant was always available. Food was served fresh and hot, staff was pleasant. Area was tidy and clean ✔️ No complaints. Thank you!

Booked here at the last minute as the premier inn was more exspensive, so we didn't really know what to expect. It was gorgeous, will defenatly stay again, need to find out if they do breakfast at a reduce rate for guests.

Excellent accommodation. Was here for work, sat in the garden which backs onto the canal on a summers night. Service was fantastic. Highly recommended!

Very comfortable room but a little noisy due to the pub across the road , good amount of tea and coffee available in the room. Breakfast at the Dragon was very pleasant.

great place to spend a night we ate in the restaurant, the service was friendly and enthusiastic. the acoustics were terrible, unfortunately, and we had trouble hearing each other, but it was Saturday night, so I guess at its most crowded couldn't fault the room, window looked on to the canal, bed was comfy

Excellent clean room - Janice, Emma and the room cleaning staff - well done. Shame room 6 was above the kitchens as the back doors kept constantly slamming. However, thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again in one of the back rooms.

Stopped here overnight as we were visiting family. A lovely room, big bed, nice location overlooking the canal. The room was well finished, with a really nice bathroom. It's attached to the dragon pub which is really nice, great good at good prices and the wait staff were very good. The negatives were the noise from the function room which the b and b seems to back onto. It would be good to offer ear plugs or maybe advise that it may be noisy on a weekend. We expected this as we knew the pub, but if you didn't know this I imagine this could be quite annoying. Also, the place isn't actually a bed and breakfast. A more appropriate name would be a bed. Breakfast isn't included. Not sure if the owners have looked up the definition of a bed and breakfast. But they really should make this very clear. Maybe just offering 'rooms' instead as many places do. The breakfast however was not expensive and very good. A great place to stay, just misleading.
