Beautifully converted to a very high standard. Warm and well fitted. Plenty of space for four people. Moderately remote location along quite a long farm track so you pretty much need to drive or mountain bike to do any activities.

We had a most relaxing and restorative stay. The accommodation was beautiful, comfortable, and perfectly equipped; situated amongst breathtaking scenery, in an excellent location for exploring Derbyshire and Staffordshire. The herdwick sheep were marvellous! We couldn't have asked for any more from our time at Highfields. Very grateful to the brilliant hosts. We hope to return very soon.

We have recently returned from our seventh visit to this fantastic barn conversion and can only reiterate the excellent comments already written. Any guests who stay in this fabulous cottage must take advantage of Kate’s offer to take you on a walk around the farm. Where else can you go and enter a large field and Droopsy and his gang run across the field to meet you for a stroke and cuddle. We were also lucky to visit during the lambing season and witness lambs being born and also have the opportunity to bottle feed the cades. In addition to the country walks and local market towns (Bakewell, Buxton, Leek and Chatsworth), within an hour’s drive you can be in Manchester watching football or in Stoke visiting the pottery factories. Kate & Nev are excellent hosts, nothing is too much trouble, and they go the extra mile to make your stay enjoyable. As you can imagine we have already booked for another visit in September.

We stayed for a week in May. Weather very wet but all was good. The cottage is well presented and extremely comfortable with a lovely warming log fire. Has a bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor plus another bedroom and bathroom upstairs. Kate the owner is very helpful and welcoming, plus she can offer tasty meat and sausages from her own sheep. Well worth a visit, especially if you enjoy being well out in the countryside.

Excellent little place for holidays in the UK with lovely owners and some pretty cute companions that say hi. As a side note, the track to get down to the house may not be suitable for cars that have a lower suspension than normal (taking it slow is your best bet!)

Excellent holiday home. Very comfortable surroundings and the owners are lovely too. Be aware, the track to the farm is unpaved for quite a way, and a standard car may hit the road in places if not taken at a very slow pace?
