No.7 Lodge, 3 bedroom, big enough but flooring was ridiculous, garden patio tiles throughout living room and kitchen.... very strange. Also internal decor needs to be brought into the 2020's from the 1980's!

We recently stayed at Ashby Woulds Lodges and Spa, having booked through Hoseasons. We had stayed in the exact same lodge 10 years ago and were really looking forward to returning, as it had been excellent back then. Unfortunately, the experience this time could not have been more different. There was mould in the bedrooms, and our clothes became damp from the conditions. Shelves were missing from the fridge, the mattresses and sofa were extremely uncomfortable, and the flooring in the kitchen and bathroom was uneven, which made it unsafe for anyone with mobility issues. The décor and furnishings appeared unchanged since our last visit a decade ago — the same sofas and even the same cushions. The website describes the lodges as “an exclusive collection of exceptional boutique lodges,” but sadly this was far from the truth. The damp conditions made it impossible for my mother, who has asthma, to stay any longer, and we had to cut our holiday short. We complained to Hoseasons and, although they apologised, they were unable to get any response from the lodge owner. That alone speaks volumes about the management of the property. We were eventually offered a 25% refund, which we accepted, but we do not agree that this reflects the seriousness of the issues or the health impact they caused. After years of using Hoseasons, this has been a real disappointment, and I would urge them to review the standards of properties they promote under their name. Sadly, we won’t be returning to Ashby Woulds Lodges.

Currently staying at the Lodge hot tub hasn't been working for 2 days keeps coming up with a error message after 5 minutes no one at reception for last 2 days and leaving tomorrow. Very unhappy and disappointing. How can you not have someone at reception.whole purpose is for kids to use hot tub i could have booked a hotel if wanted to stay indoors.with a room just too sleep in. ER6 is what is flashing on hot tub with freezing cold water if anyone can be bothered to check this review before we leave.

Not a lot of privacy for the hot tub space. Built in radio system for the lodge wouldn’t turn off. Had to forcefully switch it off by the fuse! Wi-Fi for our lodge wasn’t working luckily I had unlimited data! Wasn’t told about the £150 deposit when me and my family arrived. Took a very long time to get the refund. No shops/supermarkets walking distance. Have to drive if you want anything. Wouldn’t stay here again.

Lodges are nicely fitted out and have Hot Tubs. Very quiet park. No amenities on site, no shops or restaurants within walking distance. If not self catering be prepared for about a 5 mile trip to find somewhere to eat.

We stayed in Lodge 1 which is Cedar Lodge for 6 people, Good sized lodge with Hot tub for the price...quite dated and in need of some TLC, wallpaper peeling off in places around the place and vinyl flooring has ripples in it and a ripped sofa, Also the master bedroom Mattress was flat and felt the divan under it , but We had a great weekend regardless though as the lodge was well stocked with everything you need its a shame about the things mentioned as not cost much to fix I would have given 5 if these had been sorted prior to arrival as been like that for a while by looks of it , Hot tub was fab though. We came for a relaxing weekend and that's what we got. Had the bonus of Sky TV which is a 1st for us in a lodge.

Had the most amazing weekend away with my partner, staff at reception were lovely, lodge was very clean. Hot tub was ready to get in at about 10pm on the first night. £150 deposit was back in my bank about 3 days after I got home. Would definitely stay again

Accomodation is ok although a bit worn in places, looks like it hasn't been updated in 15 years and it showed in lots of places. From a service point of view you are not allowed in until 5pm but have to vacate at 9am. That means a whole day of your break is wasted, that is nowhere near good enough in this day and age and is very poor service where the customer comes last. An issue we had is that your Bedroom in the lodge is only a few feet away from a hot tub where the pump noisily goes off and on every 10 minutes for a minute right through the night. If you live in a quiet place this will wake you up repeatedly. If you are used to a noisy room you may not notice it but we both did lots of times every night. The site itself is quiet, the location is quiet but central to Derby , Leicester,. B'ham. Would we stay here again.. no but if you don't notice noise in the night time and are OK with the 5pm 9am enter exit times it was ok value.

Just returned home after our stay in Ceder Lodge 1, we are a group of 5 friends who stay in this lodge and have done every year for 8 years (except covid) and we love it. The staff are exceptionally helpful. The lodges have everything you could need and the setting is idyllic. See you next year!
