Went in to buy some new walking boots for my wife, and some snowboarding gloves for myself. The service, attantion and knowledge given by the sales assistant, Tom, was invaluable. Although Tom was 89 years old, his enthusiuasm for walking and his real-world experience really helped in the selection and fit of the new boots. He spent all the time with us that we needed and was a joy to deal with. All-in-all an excellent exeperience and I would have no hesitation in recommending both Cotswold Reading and Tom in particular for his service. I have personally previously bought two pairs of Meidl walking boots from here, and they have been excellent, without issue for the 4 years I have owned them. The 15% discount for being a National Trust member also helps when buying such high cost items.

An amazing store with a range of clothing and tools for all sorts of outdoor activities. When i visited I was looking for a tent and some new walking boots, Richard immediately asked if I needed help or If he could look something up for me. Whilst asking about boots Richard offered to show me some new boot measuring device that they had and the following conversation was fascinating (I had never thought so much about what kind of shoes/ boots I should be wearing) he explained everything I needed to know and allowed me to try on everything I asked about and even brought his own recommendations to the table. My experience there today was fantastic and I certainly plan to return to pick myself up some new boots.

Went for an outdoor footwear fitting appointment, and it was awesome! Met up with Max, who took me through getting my feet scanned for measurements, listened to what I was after and gave some recommendations to try out, and gave some great advice for testing the boot's fit. Found my almost perfect pair, but unfortunately needed a half size when they only stocked full sizes. Still though, I highly recommend them, was an excellent service!

Staff are friendly and helpful. I had my gait analysis last time and they are great with answering my queries. On top of this, I didn't expect a £15.00 voucher for shoes. Very nice!

Good range of products albeit at mostly over the average pricing but it is a real shop. Ended up buying a pair of hiking boots which, on checking later, were actually cheaper than most online stores. Parking directly outside is a problem often but if shopping at Morrisons across the road, a quick excursion is acceptable.

I have problems with my feet. Morton's neuroma in each foot plus some Arthritis. When I called in advance shop staff recommended that I saw Tom. I concur. Best to make sure he is working ahead of your visit if it's for shoes. An amazing, kind and superbly knowledgeable person. I left with the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever had and a clear idea about how best to look after them. Superb member of staff. Parking outside the shop is limited but there is supermarket/retail parking just over the road

Popped into the Reading branch today to enquire about some insoles for flat feet. I was really pleased with the amount of choice that I had and also the knowledge of the sales person (Max). He helped me make an informed choice given the problems that I was experiencing. From what I saw of the shop, it has a really good choice of brands and equipment.

.Cotswold Camping has a great range of clothing and equipment for camping, running, walking, hiking. Main brands are stocked. Also a great range of Garmin watches (I got my current Fenix from here and was the only shop that stocked it at the time). Be careful though with brands like Rab and Jack Wolfskin your credit card will be smoking when you leave. The staff are really friendly and very helpful. Recommended. Tip: whilst you can sometimes get parked outside the shop in the little lay by thing it’s better to park in Morrisons or Aldi car park - trust me.
