Freddie was super helpful to find the right PE shoes we needed. We had a wonderful experience. Sports direct has a good collection.
If there was prize for poor customer service, Sports Direct of Newbury would win it hands down. They tend to think of every customer as a shoplifter and the experience I had when trying to return an item of clothing within 48 hrs of purchase was beyond shocking. The senior staff member and manager both tried to find every possible excuse to not offer a refund voucher. I think the junior staff are good but the senior ones who have spent more time with the company are really difficult. Makes me think its company training. Luckily there is JD Sports next door with better products and a vastly better customer service experience. No need to visit Sports direct Newbury
The store itself is not too bad, as ut has a bit of everything. The customer service though, is absolutely terrible, with the majority of the sales assistants simply unpleasant, unfriendly and sometimes even rude. Will not be going back there unless I really have to.
Rude staff and not interested in helping customers. The short guy and the skinny lady with long hair was very rude. They need further training on how to treat their customers. Reading some of the negative comments about the rudeness of the staff in this branch is very accurate. Higher management need to do something about their rude staff otherwise people will stop coming to this store. Worst customer service I've been to.
Better than every other sports direct i have been to. Actually have stuff you want and usually have stock you want. Bigger shop than others so more selection.
Went to buy football boots was waiting for a assistant for more than half an hour no one came to assist when we asked the cashier says it's not our problem we have only one staff very poor customer service don't know how to talk this is the second time this happened please recruit people with experience and who knows customer care
good range of sporting products and essentials, some of the staff are really helpful especially when it comes to shoes and trying them on..
Went in looking for walking boots but also found wellington boots for a very reasonable price. Not the sort of thing I wear every day so the high prices you often see have put me off up to now. Ended up getting both and have since enjoyed multiple muddy walks!
Edit: ask staff to use the changing rooms! It needs changing rooms. The sizes range. For example an XXL top won't fit but all my others do. Shorts XXL felt too large and my other XXL feel that they have shrunk (all new). Cheap throwaway tops. The designer stuff like Firetrap are good heavy duty stuff. I wish there were more technical shirts for summer in the store. Staff are MEGA BUSY but isn't everywhere nowadays? They could be more friendly. Perhaps they should pay the staff more so performance related pay on customer reviews via receipts would show just what great customer service is all about I'll probably update this review once I've done an exchange/refund as only 1 item I purchased yesterday visited. Previous cheap tops shrink . Go for things like Under Armour and other brands rather than generic stuff ( unless you want to waste what little money you have)
