We had a lovely 1 night stay at Parsons House. Our original booking was for 2 nights but due to snow and ice we decided to leave early for safety which we were sad to do. The hosts were warm and welcoming, providing helpful tips on local walks and travel home. Coffee and biscuits were plentiful and always on offer when re-arriving back to the hotel. Breakfast was delicious, yogurt, honey and granola to start, with tasty home cooked breakfast of bacon and eggs and homemade marmalade. We stayed in the ground floor bedroom which was beautiful and original decoration. Highly recommend this B&B and we're planning to go back later in the year.

What an amazing, chilled place to stay! Just 2 rooms, beautifully decorated, with lots of little extra touches to make your stay easy and comfortable. David is a great host, making sure you have everything you need, cups of tea offered whenever you come in - even left outside your door in the morning before breakfast, which by the way is plentiful and cooked to perfection. Really loved staying here.

Fabulous stay. Scrummy breakfast. Choice of whatever combination of cooked bits you wanted. Lovely toast. Homemade quince jam! Breakfast trifle (healthy!) yumyumyum! Felt so looked after. David was so thoughtful & caring & hospitable. Pot of tea on arrival (with biccies!) & fresh coffee brought to your door before breakfast. Definitely recommend if you want that real homely experience. Hartington is a best village, so B&B is great location for walks. But what makes it special is how you are looked after! (Rooms are lovely, comfy, clean & quirky!) Thanks David. You made our stay so special & memorable. Tina & Paul

David is lovely. And love his home. He is super friendly and helpful. Breakfast is delicious- compote, cooked breakfast- so good. David is very close to both pubs. Bookings are essential! The Devonshire was very tasty but be prepared to wait, even when booked. I feel for the pubs- short staffed.

This beautiful BnB in Hartington is a breath of fresh air! David is an interesting and knowledgeable host along with his wife. We were welcomed with a pot of tea and shortbread, and Maud the cat. Tea was made freshly on request (rather than being in the room), and David would deliver a fresh pot in the morning to wake up to before getting ready for the incredible breakfast! The home is beautiful and unique, with exposed pipes, burners, lovely woodwork and pictures. We stayed downstairs and I slept like a log in the large, long comfortable bed. The BnB is comfortably warm. The bath in our room is short for a tall couple, but adequate to soak up the strains of a serious bike ride around and over the hills. It's refreshing to have access to a bath in a BnB! There are no TV in the room, but WiFi is provided. At this BnB it was the anticipation of the host that made it so special. Will definatley be back! Strongly recommend a visit to the pub opposite for dinner, buying some cheese in the local shop and grabbing a hot drink from the cafe/farm shop opposite.

I stayed here with someone else who made the booking. David was an excellent host, I can't fault him. But as a B&B, where all you do is sleep and have breakfast, I didn't find the room great. The bed was hard, the decor was terrible and there was no shower. There was enough hot water for one hot bath and one slightly warm bath. When two of you need a bath, that's not good. There was also no WiFi in the room, despite being given a password - it didn't work.

David is a super host, and made us very welcome, always a pot of tea or coffee available, warm fires and relaxed atmosphere. The rooms are delightful and every day it was tidied to perfection. Breakfast is all locally sourced food, and plenty of it. David takes pride in his cooking, everything is beautifully presented and he regularly checks things are to your liking. Hartington itself is a well equipped village, great for walking and cycling from the doorstep. Can't wait to visit again.
