Fantastic cinema & staff . Absolutely beautiful - spotlessly clean. Thankyou to all the team for making my daughter’s Smurf birthday party special. Annie was extremely helpful in organising & arranged the food packages - including food tolerance. Delicious pizza popcorn . The teas coffees went well with the adults. The team roped off the booth area for my daughter’s party and I was allowed to decorate that area with balloons & lights & whilst watching the film all party bags & birthday cake safely stored . Thank you Northern Light Cinema we will definitely be back! Many thanks Emma ( ps if you haven’t been yet - it’s a definite must have !!)
Our first visit to our very own Cinema in Wirksworth to see the Amy Winehouse movie which is excellent. We had pre movie drinks at the bar, and it all felt very special. The staff were really attentive and had time for a chat and made us feel very welcome. We had a 2 seater sofa and took our drinks in with us. Definitely going back again soon.
Loved this place. The owners are so friendly. They've created a really friendly, cozy vibe. The bar area before you go into the cinema is welcoming and offers a huge range of nibbles and sweets to take through with you. The cinema itself has comfy chairs and sofas, and a front room feel - so different from the sterile multiplex cinemas. It's small yet has a wonderful vibe.
What a beautiful place! A tiny boutique cinema nestled in the gorgeously cute town of Wirksworth. The stunning 1920s Art Deco bar offers a decent range of beers, wines, soft drinks and cocktails, where the friendly staff go the extra mile to make sure your cinema experience is the best it can be. The films on offer tend to be more interesting than the usual superhero fare showing at the multiplexes and the auditorium itself is filled with comfy seats and sofas for super soft comfort. Worth the journey from anywhere. Highly recommend!
Lovely boutique cinema. No draft beer tonight but usually they have some good options. Lots of other drinks and snacks to choose from. Good choice of films. We are regulars!
It's cinema as it should be: an event. Comfortable seating, a bar, reasonably priced and a lovely atmosphere. I can't imagine bothering with a multiplex again.
Visited the cinema on a family holiday in the region as something different to do. Well, what a wonderful experience it turned out to be. The entrance takes you straight into a cocktail bar with a truly magical atmosphere and we were greeted like old friends and served with very reasonably priced drinks. The cinema itself is quirky and funky and there is no compromise on the screen and sound quality. It’s a very special little place and highly recommended to cinema fans and all
Great small boutique cinema which has some sofas, armchairs and more regular cinema seating. Probably seats around 30 to 40 people max and only single screen so advise to book online previously. Small bar area in entrance with a few tables, selection of beer, wine and spirits and some snack foods. Drinks can be ordered from your cinema seat.
Brilliant little independent cinema. 1 screen only. It really is like having a cinema screen in your living room. Fantastic little cocktail bar as well. Beautifully decorated, really is a lovely place to be.
