Super service, and delivery of medication. Kind helpful staff who work hard to serve the community. Shop is overwhelming busy most times of day. The huge windows make the shop unbearably hot for the staff in summer and air condirioning should have been installed when the shop was refiitted recently..

I’ve been using Bassil’s for over 40 years and I honestly can’t fault the team here. It’s an incredibly busy chemist - there’s almost always a queue - yet every single member of staff is friendly, patient and genuinely helpful. With the small team and one pharmacist, working long hours, six days a week, an average 10–30-minute wait for a prescription is completely understandable and, from what I’ve experienced, pretty standard for the area. What makes the difference is how dedicated and hardworking everyone is, even when they’re clearly rushed off their feet, processing not just walk-in customers’ prescriptions, but the 1000’s for delivery, care/nursing homes & hostels etc., plus the day-to-day running of the chemist shop itself. They deserve far more credit than they probably get. An easy 5/5.

I want to start off by saying that I haven't had a bad experience with the staff - the three people I interacted with at the pharmacy were all very polite and helpful. Additionally, I'm not upset about the waiting time, as that's par for the course for most pharmacies. I booked a private blood test with them, which cost £95. I booked on a Wednesday, with the blood test scheduled for Friday. When I turned up, they had no booking (or any booking for that matter) for any blood tests that day. I had to fill out a form, which took a fair bit of time, before the blood test commenced. The woman who took my blood was incredibly nice, however, I do not believe she was qualified to take my blood. She looked very nervous and it was an entire five minutes to fill up 3 vials of blood, by the end of which my arm was purple from the tourniquet. I consulted with my friends, who are qualified NHS nurses, and they said the way she took my blood was completely wrong. The service promised a turn-around time of 2-3 working days. It has been 10 days since I've had the blood test, and still no results. I can't speak for the prescription service, but I would not book a private blood test here.

Great service! I needed a quick consultation about my inhaler and the pharmacist at Bassil Pharmacy gave me a thorough check-over and helpful advice. Plus the waiting time was very reasonable. Would recommend.

This is surely the worst pharmacy in the universe. Every single time I have used it, I have regretted it and wished I had used a different pharmacy. They seem to have no system for organising prescriptions, and so waits of up to 1 hour while the actual pharmacist is on the phone are not uncommon. Today I had a vaccination booked, and then - after waiting for 20 mins - I was told that they aren't doing vaccinations for another 2 weeks. I asked: "why was I able to book it then?", and the member of staff replied, "yeah, I don't know, we've had loads of people turn up and say they've made bookings actually". People are taking time off work, they're arranging child care etc. in order to be able to attend their booked slot, only to be turned away because this pharmacy is completely useless. Never again. I don't care how far I have to travel. Any other pharmacy is better. To anyone reading this, I say: do not come to this joke of a pharmacy.

Some of staff is rude. The lady have done a mistake in prescription, I was trying to be polite and find compromise to solve situation, but she angrily answered to me and I felt very bad. I won’t come back to this chemist, we all people can do mistakes and should be more good for to each other!

Being a regular user of pharmacies, I particularly like the staff and service at Bassil. I used them in 2010/11 and then returned almost ten years later when I was local again and they remembered me - Leila specifically is very pleasant. I see they have a very tough and demanding job and deliver it very well. Very many thanks. I wrote this review as I see a lady below complaining, but clearly she is either a problem customer or doesn't come here enough. Being in the city centre area I believe that they provide medications to those with drug dependancy issues and provide a priority service to them, so it seems. have some compassion for others who struggle with such issues and if you really don't like the service then don't ever approach them. its quite simple.

I only use this Chemist when I really have to, when it's convenient for me to do so. I generally don't have any problems, but my experience over the last week has left me no option but to write this review. I had tried to contact the parent company, but they seem to be as incompetent as the Chemist itself. On Monday lunchtime, I visited the pharmacy and was met with a very long queue which left many of us waiting outside the chemist in the heat. Meanwhile, other "customers" seemed to walk in and out the rest of us wait patiently. These "customers", used the open isle of the shop to go straight to the front counter and to my surprise, THEY WERE SERVED FIRST!!!. After waiting for 15 minutes, I made it inside the shop. One of the shop assistants (with white hair) had no idea what she was doing. At one point, there were 6 customers patiently waiting, with all staff members ALL LOOKING DOWN ON THE WORKTOP - no eye contact, and no acknowledgement of customers. Short staff member was particularly snappy with some of her comments to customers in front of me - everyone else behind could hear every word - NO PRIVACY!. At this point, I had asked the customer behind me why there were people who used the other isle of the shop to by-pass the queue, to which they replied that this always happen apparently, but nobody questions out of fear. I then came back to the same Chemist on Saturday at around 11 AM. Firstly, the door of the chemist was CLOSED, can you believe it in this heat!. The Chemist was very smelly inside and felt like a sauna. Unbelievable!

A brilliant local pharmacy. Mentioned a problem and was offered a blood pressure test(pretty high!) was then offered a 24h monitor there and then as available and all free. Next day I was given a print out and advice, data was also forwarded to GP. Outstanding, It would be hard to get this service from my surgery (moan about NHS underfunding) This is an inner city pharmacy don’t expect no queue at busy times but when served, you are the most important person.
