If I could put no stars, I absolutely would! I left my cat at Longcraft over the Christmas holidays as my usual cat hotel was fully booked. This was my cat’s first time staying somewhere new, so I made it very clear to the owner that I was nervous and would need regular communication. I was reassured this would not be a problem. Before booking, I had already noticed recent negative reviews but chose to trust the owner’s word. Unfortunately, that was a mistake. At drop-off, I was clearly told I could call during the Christmas period to check on my cat, despite the website stating they were closed. I attempted to call on the 24th, 25th and 26th and could not get through until the 26th - a clear case of miscommunication. I also stated at check-in that I would be collecting my cat in the afternoon due to work. I was told this was fine and paid the full amount quoted. On the day of collection, I was then told I would need to pay for an extra day, which had never been mentioned. When I raised these issues with the owner, her attitude was completely unacceptable. She was rude, patronising and dismissive, repeatedly interrupting me, confusing me with another customer, and refusing to properly listen. When I asked if she was going to allow me to explain why I was upset, she responded very sarcastically with “well I’m here, I’m listening, go on”. When I finally explained the miscommunication, she abruptly ended the call saying she would speak to her colleague. At that point, I left work early to collect my cat immediately, as I was no longer comfortable leaving her there any longer. When I arrived in person, the staff member the same gentleman who checked me in apologised and admitted he had made a mistake. Yet the owner never apologised for her behaviour. To make matters worse, my cat’s carrier was returned dirty and covered in hair, two blankets I provided were missing, and staff spent around 15 minutes searching for them, despite the fact these should have been with my cat at all times. The cat area itself felt dark, cold and unwelcoming. I understand it was the Christmas period - but if you are going to offer a service, do not promise things you cannot deliver. The biggest issue here was not even the staff mistakes, but the absolutely horrendous attitude of the owner when challenged. She may seem nice at first, but becomes extremely rude and patronising when there is an issue. I am still waiting for an apology. Her and her staff will probably either delete this review or respond with a bunch of lies. If deleted, I will be sure to post this review again. I really don’t write reviews often, and I have used cat hotels before with no problems. For me to take the time to write this should say enough. I have no reason to lie, and I would never leave a false review. I would never bring my cat here again, even if I was desperate, and I strongly advise others to look elsewhere. There are far better cat hotels available. I personally recommend The Meow Hotel in Derby, where I have always received excellent care and communication. It was just unfortunate that they were full during the period. I needed them. I should have listened to my gut - and the reviews.

Great staff that have been able to take my reactive large breed and have settled her in and managed her amazingly well in a safe environment. Also looks very smart and well equipped.

I definitely won’t be returning. We left our two dogs for a four-night stay, and from the start, the staff seemed disinterested. We specifically warned them that Blue resource guards, but we were assured it wouldn’t be a problem. When we picked them up, the staff’s attitude was just as poor. One comment especially worried us: “Blue wasn’t nice, so we stayed away.” This makes us question whether he was properly cared for or even walked. On top of that, he now has an unexplained injury on his face, with no apology or proper explanation from the staff. Initially, we were told the dogs got three walks a day, but later, in another email, we were informed that Blue was aggressive toward staff along with the “we stayed away” comment leads us to believe he wasn’t exercised. This inconsistency makes it clear that Rosemary doesn’t have proper oversight of what’s happening in her kennels. I’m willing to remove this review if proof is provided that both dogs were actually exercised as promised. * The reply below is unfortunately full of lies, our dogs have only been to this kennel one previous time and for only one night, there was no communication to us about any issues while they was in there on this occasion and have never had a problem in any other kennels. We was only told he wasn’t welcome after we complained about our concerns for his welfare, no apology for his injuries and no evidence he was walked ( as claimed) or fed properly. We argree with all the other negative reviews about Rosemary and the staff

I really cannot fault this kennels, my family first used them over 30 years ago and I've been using them with my dog for the last few years. They are incredibly patient, understanding and caring people who work with the dogs, a true love of dogs is shown! Yes the dogs come back smelling, of dogs, it's a kennels, nothing a quick bath doesn't solve! The kennels are exceptionally clean (as is shown by the fact you can go and view them whenever!). Our dog has he's own quirks and this place are fantastic with him, they show an excellent understansing of dog behaviour, he goes in happy and comes out wagging his tail bouncing around! Brilliant place, will always use with any dogs with have, now and future!

I’ve been taking both my dogs here for years . Then just one dog who goes from a grumpy old fella to a youngster. The staff are amazing . They know my dog and his ways . True dog lovers . Ms Thomas and staff deserve their achievement of winner of small business award . I can’t thank them enough.

We left our dog and cat in Kennels for the first time. Bit worried about dog (large German Shepard) and Personel as he is not the most friendly dog. Been there for 7 days no one gets hurt ethier dog or personel. Only I can point it's not enough walks but it's our dog do not want to cooperate and go out off Kennels so not blame anyone. Place was clean, people nice and helpful always answer calls. Kennels could be bit bigger. Overall would recommend. You can leave Your dog with peace of mind.

We boarded our dog here for a week in August and I must say he thoroughly enjoyed it, to the point that on collection he didn’t want to leave. We will definitely be back.

This was our first time using this cattery. Staff are really friendly and the prices were good. The cattery area appeared clean but quite blank. Due to it being a cattery and boarding kennel there is a lot of barking from boarding dogs which is maybe not the best for a cat not liking dogs.

The staff are all lovely and super helpful. Prince stays here regularly and loves going. He comes back happy and healthy! He’s stayed quite a few times over the last 2 years and I would be reluctant to take him anywhere else.
