   Warm welcome from the owner Tim in this old police station with the odd of memorabilia throughout the B,&B. Warm, clean and comfortable room and delicious breakfast beautifully prepared by our host. Local pub and store just short walk away and parking available.

   Tim made us extremely welcome and cooked wonderful breakfasts. Our room was comfortable with a small fridge, also tea/coffee making facilities. Being an old police station, the place had character and charm. It ceased being a police station in 1952. Our bathroom was the old cell, with the bedroom being where prisoners would meet their solicitors, hence our room being appropriately named 'The Solicitors'. A very historical place, with a lovely black cast iron sweeping hand rail tightly by the stairs, takes you onto the landing. This gave us a sense of real history each time we used them. Both the hallway/landing are filled with old police memorabilia, which added charm. The room and especially the bathroom are beginning to tire slightly, and perhaps could do with updating in the near future. However personally, it wouldn't stop us staying again. A perfect location.

   My wife and I spent 3 nights at the Old Lockup during our recent holiday in England; it provides very comfortable accommodations and is a great base for exploring the Peak District.    A little gem of a B&B. The owner Tim is a friendly host and his breakfasts are great. The rooms are very comfortable with everything you need supplied. Ideally situated to explore the vibrant village of Wirksworth, a place I had never come across before, but somewhere I shall certainly be visiting again.

   What can I say. I would definitely recommend this bed and breakfast. Was taken away for a surprise and the place played a big part in a great weekend. Wonderful greeting by the owner. Our room was amazing and the history of the building is fabulous. Breakfasts were so very good. We didnt eat on the evening but when we visit again, which we will, we will definitely try the evening meal. Also dog friendly which is really important to us. Our dog stayed in the room at breakfast time but we would expect this. Gem of a place. Situated in a great village too with plenty of dog walks.

   Quirky and unique place with some history, absolutely loved it. The room (I stayed in the Magistrates Room) was clean, well presented and very comfortable. The owner, Tim, was very helpful, offering a cuppa and a cake on arrival so we could relax as soon as we arrived. I would stay again for sure. Oh and the breakfast was very tasty and good quality. Visit the Star Disc while you are there, a lovely walk and beautiful views.

   Arriving for a three night stay, our host Tim welcomed us with tea/coffee and cake. We found our room to be most satisfactory in a unique and interesting establishment. Everything was to a high standard and all the food was deliciously prepared, cooked and served by our host. We enjoyed three evening meals and three breakfasts, all different, and for us, the homemade bread alone was worth going for. We had a most relaxing and enjoyable stay and the town of Wirksworth is a very interesting place. Well worth the visit.
