Lovely place to enjoying watching the wildlife and enjoy a walk round the site. There are plenty of birds to see and hear along the paths with viewing platforms and a hide that provide excellent great views. A circular walk option allows you to walk back along the Trent and Mersey Canal.

Lovely surroundings with many look-out points to the wetlands, but a portion of the footpath is covered in treachorous plants, don't expect it to be rideable on a bike at all!

A first visit to the reserve and certainly not the last. Used public transport to get there, which was easy. The bus stop was by the entrance to the reserve. The reserve it's self was a pleasure to walk around. There was plenty of birds to see and hear along the paths, There are 2 open viewing platforms and 1 hide that provide excellent views of the reserve. The only slightly disappointing thing is that part of the circular walk is close to a very busy/noisy stretch of road. But that's a minor issue as the walk is along a canal. I would highly recommend visiting here at different times of year to see the changes in the seasons and wildlife.

I got an email from the Wildlife Trust 3 days ago saying a 5-mile circular walk has been created with a bridge made and a viewing platform, so we assumed it was ready to walk. We parked up in the free car park that they advised on their website and walked through the village, which is lovely. We walked through the gate for the wetlands and walked a straight path for about half an hour then got to padlocked gates, with signs for no public access due to conservation. We tried other public footpaths around, but they led back to the same gated entrance at the beginning. The section that we did walk is lovely for viewing part of the wetlands and various bird species, but we've still been left confused after we planned for something bigger going by the email that they sent that this is all already open.

I really hate to give places one star, but I really need this to be noticed. NOT ACCESSIBLE! I'm a part time wheelchair user, I can't walk far. I find it shocking, and insulting that there isn't even an attempt to make this place accessible. There aren't many places I can go, but most places make an effort/consideration. It isn't easy to make outdoor areas accessible to all, but at least make same area available - for example, make the path to at least one bird hide accessible. If you have any mobility issue you won't have a chance here.

Looks like a work in progress but was lovely to walk the dogs round. Great potential, good luck to all involved.
