The Reef is always good, but had their 3 course Christmas menu last night and it was amazing! Would highly recommend, great food, lovely location and nice friendly, helpful staff
Nice place when I have been here a few times but a 2 hygiene for a while needs to go back up to a 4 or 5 the toilets are a little bit hit and miss a few people said and don’t what to think of the kitchen as see can’t see it and there was a few flys flying about last time when eating in.
Food was great, service friendly and attentive. Starting to look a little scruffy around the edges. In particular the toilets are gross. Makes me question hygiene in the kitchen?! If they sort that out would be a 5*
3rd trip to Sandown in year and we always come here for dinner. The gluten free menu is unreal, so many choices of good food and tasty food. Professional, friendly staff and efficient service. Such a pleasure to come here! All the wayy from London for a good gluten free menu! Calamari is delicious with side salad and the fries... lemon tart and. Raspberry annd white chocolate ice cream! Wow wow wow.
We were hungry and decided to give it a go. We are so glad we did. Although it was busy, they fitted 3 of us in, straight away. We had the Sea Bass, homemade Pizza Carne, and the Lamb Pita. All of them were excellent, really enjoyed them, plus the 2 desserts we polished off as well. The 2 girls that served us were very pleasant, chatty, and efficient, which is great to see. A great night.

Great location and the food was lovely. The staff were very welcoming. We did visit in January, so not busy, but great that somewhere so lovely stays open for the year round visitors. Dropped a star re atmosphere, not because it wasn't busy, but because the music was a little on the loud side and too intrusive. Something a bit more chilled would have been better. Personal opinion only. Otherwise, well worth booking a table. Must be fab on a warm, sunny evening
Looking for something to eat on a BH and the Reef did not disappoint. This was lovely and warm, with a setting looking at the sea. Staff were generally very friendly, generally great service and the food was very good. Great pride taken into it from the chef. The duty manager felt slightly frosty when getting us seated when I asked if it was ok to sit slightly separate from another group, but overall service was great. I would definitely be happy to eat here again.
Fantastic food, great atmosphere and friendly service. Only negative is that we did struggle to catch the waiting staff's attention a couple of times when we wanted to order extra drinks and dessert.
The best meal we had on the Isle of Wight. We walked from Shanklin to Sandown and came across The Reef while looking for somewhere to eat and have a drink. The staff were very welcoming and the food was amazing and reasonably priced. Will definitely eat here again when we visit the island again.
