Stayed the weekend and can highly recommend,management and staff go above and beyond.The room was cosy and food in the restaurant was amazing followed by a first class breakfast in the morning. Perfect place to stay for a little getaway.
We have just stayed Tuesday to Friday on a bed and breakfast basis. We arrived fairly late but were greeted in a warm welcoming way and Paddy could not do enough for us to help us to settle in. The room was everything we could have hoped for. The cooked breakfast was great but too much for me so early in the day and on the other two days I chose cereal and toast and scrambled eggs, nothing was too much trouble. The town was a flat 10 minutes walk away with plenty to do and, the reason for our trip, the bottom of Slieve Donard was another short walk through the town. The restaurant only opens at the weekend so we couldn’t use it. All in all we were exceptionally pleased with our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to return and/or recommend it to anyone else.
Avoid, one of the worst meals I've had in years. Called in on the spur of the moment one Sunday afternoon. The carpark was about the best thing in the whole experience. The service was poor and inexperienced, food was bland, just above school dinner level. We won't be back. Do yourselves a favour, travel about 2 miles away an eat in the Dundrum Inn. It's such a better meal.
Excellent food professional friendly service
Have only eaten,not stayed in GL. It is one of the best restaurants in Newcastle. Best avoided at holiday occasions MD, FD as it is very busy. Good base for local golf at Royal County Down.
Beautiful food and atmosphere with great service
Stayed here for a friend's wedding in August. Room prices were good, staff were amazing, rooms are good and so was the food. They really went out of the way to help us when we needed. Would definitely stay again
We booked our daughters christening for over 50 adults and 10 children. The staff went above and beyond to make our party come together. The food was lovely, and extremely reasonable. The presentation was brilliant. GLH also allowed us plenty of access to get in and set up decor before which made it the perfect day.
