   Whilst I was away overseas, my mother kindly took my Barbour jacket into store to get a popper fixed. The staff told her the jacket NEEDED to be rewaxed. I only wear the jacket on nice occasions and it was basically still in brand new condition, it certainly DID NOT need re-waxing! They fixed the popper but the rewax left the jacket very sticky, which they reassured would be 'fine in a week'. 3 months later, I return home and the jacket is still a sticky mess. I complained to Barbour who took it in for free but promptly sent it back to me a week later in the exact same condition I sent it in. What started as a simple popper repair resulted in my favourite jacket rendered totally unwearable. They took advantage of my anxious mother in order to upsell a poor service that wasn't even needed. Won't be visiting this store or buying anything Barbour again.

   Before you buy a Barbour jacket I suggest you look at photographs of what mine looks like after only three years of winter walks with my dog. Falling to bits. My 35 year old Barbour jacket is still in perfect condition. Are these new jackets made in China now? Barbour used to be a sign of quality - not any more.

   Brilliant shop. Clothing is set out really well, which makes shopping there a pleasure. Howard, the manager, was spot on. Nothing was too much trouble for him, and he was happy to go the extra mile to make sure we were happy.

   Fantastic Barbour retailer, really helpful staff, great selection of jackets. I wanted a specific jacket which they helped me with, it was delivered directly to home for me to try on. The Beacon jacket has long sleeves which needed to be shortened, I was asked to return the jacket to the store ( even though they were closed for a refit ) where the staff measured me up and returned the jacket to Barbour for alterations. No drama, no problems just first class customer service from lovely people. We can’t wait to come back and have a look at the new shop and a few more purchases.
