Attentive, friendly and welcoming, family owned establishment! The best local pub we have ever been in. Always feel at home there, with a great variety of live music each week! You really don't find many places like this anymore. It's an absolute gem x

Seemed like a nice pub but doesn’t have any wine there that’s drinkable

Typical estate type pub, good selection of drink split into 3 main areas. Main bar, back room set out for darts and pool. And beer garden . Very functional dors what it does best serve beer.

A back street boozer from the 1930s, busy on a Friday afternoon and under new management from the Portland. Sadly no real ale...so had Guinness which was OK. Lld wants to serve a ale in near future. This is a big pub and was full of friendly locals in both bars. Since last visit moons ago, Pompey Blue dominates the decor inside so seems cold I remember a more traditional carpet curtains set up. But worth checking out as a warm welcome was given.

Had a great night there recently, brilliant rock n roll group there, and all the rock n' rollers dancing also brilliant. Our night was ruined by a malicious act of deliberate vandalism on my car which was in a disabled spot clearly showing my Blue badge. The bar staff and people in the pub were truly amazing, and the landlord John was an absolute star, way above and beyond in his help and kindness. Thank you to all who came to our rescue, and special thanks to Chris and Carol who were also outstanding and the lovely lady who drove for miles out of her way to get us home safely after 1am. Well done Phoenix and all of you lovely people. Outstanding pub, I can highly commend and recommend, I wouldn't hesitate to go back there. Thank you, xxx

Enjoyed a great night of Rock'n Roll there with the Yesterbeats. Looks like there's live music most Fridays and Saturdays. Well worth a look in.
