Brilliant little country pub. A great family and dog friendly little gem tucked away in a hamlet. I had the pie and mash and it was phenomenal. Loads of steak, gravy and mashed potato. The desert, crumble with custard (obviously) was fantastic. And all very reasonably priced.

EDIT We have now visited a few times and each time the food was delicious. Today my husband and I had the Sunday roast and we both loved it. We still have not managed to have a pudding yet as the meals are so filling. This was our first visit we had a delicious meal, with lovely and friendly staff we will definitely visit again.

A visit to the Red Lion for yet another birthday meal. Haven’t been here for a while, but not disappointed. It’s pie week, so opted for a steak and Guinness pie. Struggled to fit in a pudding after a large portion, but our server Cheryl served up a smaller dish with a candle . Excellent food and top class service. Thank you.

A lovely cosy pub, friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Been here a few times now. One of my favourites. Came here for my birthday today with a friend. I had a gluten free meal (as photo) as I have coeliac disease. Delicious! My friend had the fish and chips, good portion size and she loved her meal. The only thing I will say is that when I asked for blackcurrant sorbet, I was unaware they would put a wafer biscuit on top (no idea if this was gluten free so I thankfully didn't eat it!) That is something they should be careful of.

Catering for the northern end of the village with a large beer garden and car park to the rear, this pub could easily be missed as it sits square on the High Street. Originally a coaching Inn dating from 1726, it still holds sway over the community. Welcoming to humans and their dogs alike, this is an essential part of village life.

Thought we would go for a drive and found ourselves in The Red Lion in Southwick, food was very nice although i thought menu types a bit limited. Staff really friendly, really quite busy. When we walked out the back way to the car we found these great pods and a huge garden, who knew, all very inviting and cosy. All in all i would recommend a visit

Went during a weekday evening and wasn't busy, service was very good and the food was 'good pub quality'. There's a couple of 'pods' (wooden shed with lights and seats etc) outside that seated up to 6. Inside was good with a traditional feel to it. It's somewhere where I would return to.
