   ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fantastic Sunday Lunch at The Hare & Hounds, Stoughton After a two hour walk around Kingley Vale on the South Downs with nine friends and one very muddy dog, we were more than ready for a great pub lunch, and The Hare and Hounds absolutely delivered. Despite turning up as a big group, we were welcomed straight in and easily accommodated. The Sunday lunch was amazing, generous portions, perfectly cooked, and exactly what you want after a long walk. Great service, proper village pub atmosphere, and dog friendly too. We’ll definitely be back!

   Great country pub in the downs. Very popular and completely full when we arrived after a Sunday morning walk for lunch. But accommodated us warned of a bit of a weight that wasn’t much anyway, but plenty of board games to play with the kids. Superb roast! Sorry I ate it all before picture and wife’s burger (which was also lovely) I forgot to order!

   Lovely countryside pub. Great food service and staff. Nice outdoor seating when the weather is good. Nice beer selection as well. Parking in the road can be a bit tight but it's a small country road so expected . Overall great pub.

   Wonderful experience at the Hare and Hounds for a Sunday lunch. Hands down the best roast I’ve had in a long time! I had the pork belly which was deliciously tender and not too fatty. Plentiful trimmings which were all tasty. Banoffee pie for dessert was also spot on and not too sweet. I didn’t get our server names but he was a helpful friendly chap and made our lunch even more enjoyable. Would recommend and hope to return soon!

   Visited this pub after a walk. Pre booked as a large group with children and dogs and the pub was very accommodating! Warm and cosy atmosphere and staff were friendly. Food was good altho roast dinner could have done with maybe another potato and a bit more gravy but other than that! We also had a birthday cake which they made a special occasion of! Lots of outdoor seating and set in a beautiful village so can imagine lovely in the summer.

   If you are looking for a great old English pub after a long arduous walk across the downs then look no further, the food is lovely and filling the Ale is varied and the wine never stops flowing, in the centre of the dining area is a quaint fireplace keeping all the punters happy and also plenty of seating outside There is space for 6 reasonably sized cars to park off road or you can park on the road itself if there is still space, remember to respect the local villagers. Highly recommended for lunch or just a post walk pint

   Went to the Hare & Hounds for Sunday lunch and celebrate my partners birthday. The ambience was perfect and the food and service exceptional. In my opinion the best pub lunch you could ever wish for in West Sussex or Hampshire.

   Haven’t been here for years! The place has changed little (which is a good thing). Menu was nice, atmosphere warm and welcoming and the food tasty. The French proprietor is great fun too!

   Nice meals & great bitter. Beautiful old pub to start with. A loooong way from home sadly (Perth, Australia) or it would be a great regular spot to visit.
