We had the loveliest evening at the Wild Hare and then the restaurant in the Avoca. We had excellent cocktails in the bar. We were there for the happy hour which was great! Our meal was absolutely delicious. The whole experience was made all the better by the staff who were ALL excellent and so friendly and professional. I would definitely recommend it for a night out or special occasion.

We both had burgers and chips. I am coeliac and it was the best gf burger I've ever had... including gf onion rings

Great bar with a lovely atmosphere. Nice interior decor & beer garden with plenty of space. I really enjoyed my evening here. They do delicious pizzas which can be ordered at the bar. I would definitely recommend coming here for a fun night.

Decent pub/restaurant. The Moules mariniere starter was delicious but ordered the large portion and got two small pieces of bread with it. Can only assume the small portion comes with just one piece of bread. Had to order garlic bread to go with it to soak up the sauce (which was amazing tbf). Service was a bit slow but friendly enough. Beer garden is dog friendly.

My family and I had lunch in the bar on bank holiday Monday. As you would expect Newcastle was very busy as was this bar however the manager and serving staff let people know the possible waiting time and gave updates until our food was served. The bar itself was well stocked and cocktails are definitely on the menu with their own mixologist to provide recommendations. The food was warm, delicious and well presented. I had haddock and chips, my husband had a burger (it arrived with bacon cheese and 3 huge onion rings) and my son had beef stir-fry. The interior is very eclectic with lots of oldie worldie gadgets, posters and ornaments relating to Newcastle and Northern Ireland. We were seated beside the window and had a fantastic view of the sea and the busy main street - definitely the best position for watching the world go by. Our waitress was wonderful, friendly, professional and asked numerous times if there was anything else we needed. I would definitely recommend a visit - we will be heading back

Only visited the bar but haven’t eaten in the restaurant yet. Really good pint of Guinness, cocktails looked delicious. Decor was great, can’t wait to go back!

Amazing service, great drinks and one of the best dog friendly spots we've ever been!

Mixed feelings! Wonderful interior and we even got a seat by the wood burning fire which they keep well tended. I had the special which was hake and it was delicious. The sides were just boiled veg though. My other critiques would be slightly slow service when it was not a particularly busy lunch and my friend's pizza was disappointing for a place that seems this nice. Definitely not indicative of a proper pizza oven/wood burner! Definitely step in for the warmth, a beer and seafood.
