Great pub in the old town of Hull. Tons of history in this building with the skull and swords which were found hidden and the plot room where the civil war was planned. Lots of character and reasonably price drinks.
Very atmospheric you can feel the history of the place, Simply a must visit when travelling to Hull! Old Peculiar on tap, where have you been all my life!
An historic, old & quirky pub which I visited whilst in Hull solely to see the so called Plotting Parlour upstairs, which to be fair is a nice enough old room albeit rather plain.
Glorious ancient atmospheric pub. Bar staff claim to have seen apparitions. Like the Golden Fleece in York, this houses a human skull. Love the place.
Lovely old historical pub oldest one in hull. Beers cheap and staff are nice. Would recommend having a gander at the skull in the corner of the room.
Very, very cold. Had a quick drink and moved on...a shame as it's clearly steeped in history. Would have been nuce to see either of the inglenook fireplaces in use
Fantastic old historic pub with listed interior dating back to before English Civil War. It was here that at the city officials decided to lock King Charles the First out of the city, leading to the start of the Civil War. Good selection of hand-pulled real ales that change on a regular basis, nice covered drinking area, food served upstairs. Highly recommended.
Beautiful architecture absolutely loved this pub.
Good historical pub, but the back room could be finished off a bit more where the little bar was... The hanging baskets used to be beautiful, but there are non this year... Hope they put but of effort in and get the hanging baskets back.
Old school historic pub built in 1550. Located down a narrow alley, this is an oak paneled, dark, cozy pub. Limited beer selection but the gins were spot on.
