   Another very loud, blokey Wetherspoons in Portsmouth. Lots of lairy geezers knocking back pints & shots at the bar, then fist pumping & staggering back to their stools. Well it was Saturday lunchtime after all. Might be what you want but not for me. Couldn't wait to leave. Average food & beer prices here. Outside seating & smoking area at the front. Another of Tim's goldmines. Keep it open Tim.

   It is a very nice atmosphere with very competitive prices. Very nice staff, especially the beautiful tall lady who brought us coffee and immediately took care of us with a big smile and a nice mood. In difficult times, she seems like the right person and professional. I love Spoons

   This is my local spoons, and it's just usual spoons. Good people behind bar , my only gripe is the addition of more tall tables ; your all sitting on top of each other ! Need more space between tables!

   Most of the food was not on the menu, ordered sausage and mash for grandchildren, meal warm, sausages in congealed gravy, mash hard. Ordered gammon, but only to be told not available after paying, offered steak, but just came with mash(offered ice cream for the children as they had not got what they ordered, but didnt take up the offer, they were still hungry). Ordered puddings, expected to eat apple crumble and custard with a fork! No clean spoons!! Spoon eventually arrived, asked to speak to manager to advise how disappointed we were with everything, advised talking to manager who said they had been busy. Didn't seem too bothered, obviously too busy to listen!!!

   Beautiful building shame that the management are not, gent toilets out of order so the one disabled toilet which is used by both sex’s but can be congested, and was for quite a while,surely when the ladies facilities are vacant and you ask to use them and the bar is not busy management should make a concession but no. I was told that on no account I would be permitted to use the ladies loo even if the manager marshalled the door. This pub has a responsibility to supply access to a toilet for its customers. It is unacceptable for a pub of this size to trade without having sufficient facilities. Fix the plumbing or close.
