The room and ensuite were more than adequate for our 2 night stay. The pub is a lovely 250 year old building and the rooms furnished sympathetically . The owner and staff very friendly and welcoming. Nice atmosphere in the pub which you can enjoy or escape in your room where it doesn't really bother you. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast with proper poached eggs etc. Location couldn't be better ,on the edge of the main area with good access to all the sights and walks. We would defiantly come back.

Good value place to stay. Free parking and ideally located for exploring Chichester centre. Really friendly and welcoming staff and an exceptionally well cooked breakfast

It's an old pub not a boutique hotel but it's fine and nice hard working staff. I was worried it would be noisy. Our room was at the front near the road but no problem at all. Open fireplace was appreciated and good breakfast. There's a car park but best of all it's a great location for visiting the town.

A proper 'local'. Father and son team, and they, and the staff, are always welcoming. As a local, I appreciate their good choice of well prepared ales. Good food and very sunny garden. Occasional bands, weekly folk club and now running a new open-mic on the last Tuesday of the month. Do visit, very near the Cathedral.

Just drank in the saloon bar,if the rest of the service and decor are the same then it is more than 5 star

The food was very fresh & tasty across the menu. The beer varied & also fresh. Altogether worth the visit.

Had great meal with friends. Great, friendly and relaxed atmosphere, open fire. Did feel portion size smaller than when last visited.

I was overcharged by mistake but when I phoned to query the bill I was vilified by the manager. I do not expect this sort of behaviour from someone who should value his customers. He made fun of me for wanting £2.40 back on 2 drinks which costed £14.20. I am a pensioner and that is a fair proportion of my spare money. The group I was with bought 6 more drinks and crisps but we will never go there again......not because of the mistake but because he was so rude.
