This place is great! When we got there, we noticed the Hob was broken and they had put a single portable induction hob in place temporarily. This wasn't too much of an issue but unfortunately it was broken so my partner contacted Ferrymen apartments and Christian explained that they had just had students in that recked some of their rooms, he was quick to replace the induction hob and we made do with a single hob and microwave. Christian recommended the food and drink festival and a sandwich shop around the corner so we checked both of them out. The building and room in generally needs a good cosmetic updo as some things are moving that shouldn't etc. I know this sounds very negative but assure you, it's a pleasant place to stay, hence why I came back again! The service is nice and friendly! We got late check out due to the hob situation and because I think Christian is genuinely a nice person! Its close to most things as we do enjoy a walk but connecting buses are regular and simple. They have bathroom and kitchen essentials there already, like oil, shampoo, conditioner etc. I would imagine I would stay again if I was to come back to Portsmouth again.

Upon arrival we was being sent links to fill out which at first I thought ok that’s annoying but fine (a online ID check) then I got sent another link to pay a £80!! Deposit!! For if there were any damages which I didn’t know was apart of our stay but luckily I had the money (some wouldn’t) because really £80 is a lot of money. Throughout our stay we was sent multiple links to fill out everyday as late as 8pm? Hardly a relaxing stay if you ask me. We was charged quite a bit around I think £45 for cleaning however our whole stay no housekeepers cleaned at all and we had to clean ourselves. The room was decorated lovely however the sleep its self was very uncomfortable unfortunately the room was very cold with no heating setting and the bed and pillows were very hard to stay asleep with especially with all the noise from outside making it sound like there was a window open and outside the room. I could even hear people whispering. We was approached by a man at our door when we opened our door to go out one night and he said hello are you renting this out and we said yes and he went to walk off so we closed the door and then overheard him talking to his son saying “come on son let’s go we can’t get in there just yet” which was a bit alarming especially as the main door is open to the public all night. Which isn’t secure at all. Some advice I would like to give is maybe investing in a mirror with some good lighting for those doing makeup and hair because it was very dark and quite impossible to do it properly. And some scissors too in the kitchen.

£380 for 2 nights. Expensive and over priced. Not enough space, expect more for the price. Small toilet and shower area. Badly designed shower that got water all over the floor. Irritating check in, needed passport image and pay £100 damage deposit, which was promptly returned, but very cheeky. One of the noisiest places I've stayed. Premier Inn would have been better.

Only a 4* for having no bottle/wine or tin opener ir scissors. Need USB ports or chargers available to hire or buy. 35.00 cleaning charge and your asked to wash up what you use before you leave, was a negative also. Host was really fantastic and helpful, lovely nights sleep, great location, rooms were clean and tidy. Would be a 5* if these few items were available. I needed scissors ✂️ Very safe and secure entry and plenty parking available nearby. No lift.

Overpromise: in the picture 2 sofa bed, in reality, 1. The double bed is very small, and it's impossible to sleep on the sofa bed. We pay cleaning fees but we need to clean before we go. There's a deposit system that does not work: they asked me to pay the deposit twice because they couldn't find the first one. They trusted a screenshot I sent and opened the door for me after mail exchange and calls. They promised to release the deposit on the check out day, but it was release 3 days later. Apart from all that, great location

It's okay, not the best but OK. Booking.com site says guests can get Netflix in the studios. Not true for me, could not access Netflix as the TV was old not wireless smart TV. So a bit disappointed. The kettle they provide is a camping one cup kettle. The room was clean and The shower was very nice. There is a cooking ring and a microwave and a fridge, but strangley enough no toaster. All in all its okay but not sure if I would book again. I've been travelling around the UK for just over a year. I've stayed in 3 holiday apartment's in Portsmouth Over that time so I have my own Points system that I keep to for ongoing trips. The ferryman studios are all different it was just my luck that I did not have a smart TV as advertised.

Came here on Friday, it’s now Tuesday morning 5am and we have been woken by a mouse running around the room! We still have until Friday here to stay! Have tried to contact the office but no response from any numbers! Heaters don’t work in bathroom or bedroom! We found bugs in the bathroom! We haven’t had any cleaners come in at all! There’s a horrible musky smell as you come into the entrance! We have turnt the room upside down to try and find the mouse for evidence before we are accused of lying! The room is a good size, as is the bathroom, comfortable beds, we have a bath and shower which is very handy! kitchen is really small hard to make anything as no space to put plates etc! Hoping to get a full refund and be able to go else where as we are not comfortable staying in here anymore! Some reviews I’ve seen rooms are well kept no complaints so I don’t see this as a bad or horrible place to stay! It’s more than likely a one off that couldn’t be controlled but I hope they Understand and do give us a refund so we can book else where!!
