Only down side the staff just walk around with those stupid headsets on they have no customer skills just talking to each other all the time

Not a bad little place good for cheap food convenient for a quick bite to eat and their xsell range is brilliant when the have it there. Most recent experience wasn’t so great though. Went to purchase two items. Now I know they’re cheap already but trading standards does stipulate ;that the advertised price.Must be the price an item is sold at. So when I went to the till and stated what I had seen on the shelves they checked and I was correct. In no way is this the staffs fault. It appeared that it was during a peak period that the never of management was dealing with a delivery (as overheard between staff during visit). So my order could not be corrected on the till. I was told that I would have to purchase the items as I was paying via contactless. And then receive the difference from the till. No problems there. Except the difference was incorrect by 11p. Now I’m not here to correct their mistake and say it was an awful injustice etc etc etc. I’m here writing a review because you as a company either need to give your staff more training with money handling and more in terms of basic maths skills. (Some people might need that refresher you can’t expect your staff to be able to do that and all the other tasks you ask of them if you don’t give them the tools required for the job; or ask more from a staff member for their skills set when employing them including having an advanced staff member around for any staff who are employed via the equal opportunities route to make their jobs easier) Were I a more nihilistic person I may of argued the toss over the small change not received. But I’d prefer to make a stand point to say that despite their error. Yourself as a company needs to give more assistance to their obviously dedicated staff team and help and support them so mistakes can be avoided. Your staff are people too like your customers and they deserve to be treated with that very same respect. I hope in future when I come to purchase from your premises I see staff feeling more calm and collected during busy peak periods and more supported by yourselves as a company. (Side note: update your till system’s with a simple code so should pricing errors occur in future they can easily resolve it - or give your staff that extra time in the morning or evening to be able to change any prices - as a company to your brilliant staff - be better)
Herons is always amazing everything I go in. The availability of products and the range on offer is outstanding as are the prices. Quality of most of the products is great. The opening hours are very handy! The staff are very friendly and helpful. Some do believe that the sunflower lanyard is just a mask exemption but I can't blame them. Their managers just need to confirm to the staff the true meaning of the lanyard. Outside of this confusion, the staff are accommodating of those with Autism and other disabilities. Requests to slow down scanning or explaining are respected and understood which helps if you need extra time to process things. The store is completely accessible to those with additional mobility needs.
