I love heron for their ice creams, Chinese meal offer, dog treats and my favourite sweets. Always friendly and polite service.
I can’t bring myself to rate this shop any higher due to a few reasons. 1. I can’t walk around the shop without hearing gossip about various staff members or customers, there is absolutely no reason this type of behaviour should be tolerated. I’ve heard multiple other customers say the same, both to me and to members of staff, but nothing ever seems to change. 2. There are multiple staff members who don’t seem to understand the concept of personal hygiene, one person specifically, who’s always on the till, has such a strong smell of body odour with greasy hair and dirty fingernails, it makes it impossible to look past his pleasant nature. It also puts me off the food I buy, and to be honest it makes me feel sick. I know staff are aware of this concern, but the management at this branch seems more interested in their own clique than addressing the concerns of multiple customers and staff. If I could make a direct complaint about the staff at this branch to Heron Foods management, I would. Due to the reasons listed above I (along with the rest of my family and extended family) have decided to pay the little bit extra and shop at any of the other stores in Barton where we don’t have to be subjected to inappropriate workplace behaviour and egregious uncleanliness.
not a bad place but you go in one day and the pop is two for £1.20 now its 69pence for one never know when they change there prices
I recently visited the Heron Foods store in Barton and was very impressed. The store was very clean and tidy, with plenty of stock on the shelves. The staff were also very friendly and helpful. I was particularly pleased to see that the store had a wide range of frozen foods, as well as a good selection of fresh fruit and vegetables. I was also able to find a number of branded products at a discounted price. Overall, I had a very positive experience at Heron Foods in Barton. The store was clean, well-stocked, and had friendly staff. I would definitely recommend this store to others
Great range of goods at great prices. Also supports "Too good to go" a system where goods getting close to sell by and best before are offered at cut prices. Plenty of parking wheelchair friendly and friendly helpful staff.

Heron's staff are always friendly and happy to help the customer with any queries. The shop is very clean and tidy and we'll stocked. In recent times I have noticed the prices on some goods increase by 20p and 25p. This is on essential items too. But post Covid seems to be increasing the cost of living everywhere. That said, Heron is still in my opinion good value for money.
