Quite easily my favourite pub. The food is phenomenal all the time, the staff are so attentive, friendly and always look formal & fantastic. I’d give the George a 10/10 if it was possible. A must visit for food or even cosy drinks. The Sunday carvery is amazing too by the way.

Always superb. The staff here are genuinely lovely and the food is consistently excellent. I’m coeliac and they never fail to offer a really good range of gluten free starters, mains and desserts, which makes eating out feel easy rather than stressful. I now live in London, but this is always a must-visit for lunch or dinner when I’m back visiting my parents (most recently for my dads birthday on the 22nd). A family favourite! Thank you ❤️

Sunday Lunch with friends. Went here not knowing what it would be like, but found all the staff pleasant and the Sunday roast was cooked to perfection and served piping hot. We had the leg of lamb and it came with a large selection of hot vegetables ( Cauliflower Cheese, Carrots, Red cabbage , sprouts etc,’ ). We were all impressed with the experience and will be recommending to friends and visiting again soon.

First of all I only went for Sunday lunch and was really good, the mussels starter excellent as was the pink melt in your mouth roast beef and the medley of vegetables plus the cauliflower cheese. I had the Eton mee which was also excellent. The only thing I would add is I would like my plate to have been warmer for the main course.

We went for a birthday meal for my mum, my meal was delicious, I had the beef stew, my mum had the haddock, not so good. Haddock should be white and meaty, hers was very opaque like it had been frozen before hand. The starters and puddings were very good as were the staff.

Lovely pub with pool table, decent ales and chilled atmosphere, the awards speak for themselves keep up the excellent work. Food area is gorgeous, gets very very busy. I've stayed here too, very comfortable and popular with bikers and other groups.

We had booked a one night stay in a twin room. Whilst the room was very spacious and the beds are very comfy and clean and new it was not one of the refurbished rooms . The rest of the furniture was a bit jaded. There was no fridge and the kettle had water left in it. The welcome book asks you to use bottled water in the kettle but none was provided. It was very noisy at night due to single glazing As its a listed building. Would suggest ear plugs. Bathroom was large and very clean. The lightshade was off the light and had been left on the bath. We had our dog with us and a dog bed treats a ball and poo bags were provided. We booked a table to eat . It was a very busy night and service was very slow most of the menu had sold out and this left us with a very limited choice. Food itself was ok fish very fresh. Lovely dog menu we ordered chicken and butternut squash which looked lovely portion was massive far too much for our small dog maybe chouce of size would be good idea Breakfast was very good quality products unfortunatly sausages were too pepperay for me but the dog loved them !!

Good food and beer. Staff were attentive. Place was warm and welcoming. Small car park had one parking space blocked by rubbish. Cost me 5 mins as I went in hopeful but had to turn around and find a parking space elsewhere. Otherwise would have been 5 stars.

I was just looking for a bite to eat on a Sunday evening and came across The George Inn. Their kitchen was only open for another 10 minutes (closes at 7 on a Sunday) so I quickly ordered the roast chicken. I might have been hungry but it was lovely. The chicken was tasty and the veg that went with it was good as well. Even the Yorkshire pudding was nice a crispy (but not too crispy just right. Nice relaxed atmosphere and I even enjoyed some of the back ground music and had to stop my self from singing along. A nice way to finish off a rather tiring hot Sunday in August in Barton.
