Great Pub and great hosts with a cosy friendly reception everytime. Always so homely and more like a friends lounge than a pub. Nice fresh ales at reasonable prices.

Very friendly Mike and Mark. Great pints all the time.

Amazing building and really good selection of ales and cider. The two guys running the place were a good laugh and im sad we couldnt stay longer as they were keen to set up thier new scaletrix set which seemed like a winning pub activity! It's very rough around the edges, colder then the north pole and smelt like somthing had died in the gents but that was all part of the experience! Even got complimentary pigs in blankets from one of the locals.. Really glad we made the effot after many years of wondering what it was like in there!

Decided to visit because this was one of a number of pubs I have not been to before. I was not disappointed. Although it was mid afternoon and the pub quiet I received a warm welcome from Mike. The selection of real ales was a joy to see and the quality of the beer was excellent. As one or two more regulars came into the pub it was clear that this was a well loved venue. Conversation flowed and you were made to feel at home. This is one of the last few traditional pubs left in Hull. It is a MUST visit place. Thanks must go to Mike & Mark and the regulars for making my first visit a memorable one.

This charming Victorian pub has preserved its character beautifully, with a well-maintained interior that captures the essence of a bygone era. The staff's warm and attentive service adds to the overall appeal, complementing the excellent selection of cask ales. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a traditional pub experience with a touch of history and great brews.

Alexandra is a great pub selling a range of real ales and ciders. There is always a welcome and a chat.

Ive been wanting to visit this pub for a long time and now Ive finally made it so glad I did. Its a bit of a walk out of the city centre but at least there is that new green footbridge to get over the road. I wanted to visit here as they do proper flat ciders and I wasnt disappointed, they had 10 on. This is a real ale and real cider pub and the owners Mike and Mark are super welcoming, as are all the customers, I had a very enjoyable visit there and look forward to going again soon.

An amazing array of 9 real ciders available at present. Makers include:- Grays Devon Cider, Sampford Courteney Cider, Skidbrooke Cyder + Hunts Cider. Just check opening hours with the pub before venturing out.

Great hand pulled beer, friendly people and wonderful architecture. In an industrial area, but a little haven of peace.

Beautiful listed Victorian Hotel dating back to 1895 (there was actually a pub on the site beyond that). The new landlord has ambitious restoration plans but it’s already a convivial place for a drink with real ales on tap. There’s also a parrot.
