   Cracking beach one of the best about without travelling hours to the likes of Donegal etc. About an hour drive and it's well worth it good old sandy beach not a pebble in sight. When busy it can be hard to get free parking but there is a beach ⛱️ just before Rossglass 2mins away where you can pay for parking as a plan (B). Massive beach and clean clear water. Newcastle only round the corner about 20 - 30mins if you want to do both.

   Have just came acre this wee hidden gem of a beach - bear in mind yes partly sand but quite a bit Rock , great picnic area so long as ppl take their rubbish home

   Beautiful view but visited at High Tide so virtually no beach ... Will go back at Low Tide Update for low tide its a bay ... sheltered ... and definitely beautiful

   Splendid views of the Mourne Mountains on a clear day. I visited when the tide was out and there was plenty of sand on the beach but I suspect that the beach is very narrow at high tide. There are plenty of rock pools to explore at low tide too. There is an information board in the car park. I estimate that the car park could hold around fifteen vehicles. Unfortunately there was a lot of plastic marine pollution along the high tide line so we took some away. It would be helpful if all visitors removed a couple pieces of plastic to help save this nice environment. This beach is definitely worth visiting at low tide and on a good weather day of you are in the local area.

   Superb beach with fantastic views across the water to the Mourne mountains. Wonderful place to walk with the dogs at any time of the year. Easy parking opposite the old church just off the road leading to St. John's point. Well worth a visit.
