The vet and vet nurse were lovely but I was disgusted with the Β£302.50 out of hours consultation charge, it was a Saturday afternoon not like it was in the middle of the night. The consultation was only 10 to 15 minutes. Daylight robbery.

Arrived at Madley late on Friday evening with my 13yr old Siberian Husky who appeared to be having siezures.....After speaking to the Vet & Nurse on site I took my girl back home happy with the advice I received. Kind Regards,

I rang on Sunday morning, my dog was (is) very unwell, not eating, barely drinking, incontinent and unable to walk even with support. She is very elderly and has a history of uti's and having tested her urine I knew that that was what the problem was. She weighs 40 kg. I explained I couldn't physically get her to the practice, she was too unwell and too heavy. She is actually with the practice Vets now are based at, so I asked them to access her medical history, they said they weren't able to. I asked if I could bring her urine sample in so they could check it and prescribe antibiotics. They refused saying she had to come in. I asked for a home visit, they said they don't do home visits because they don't have enough staff. They appeared more concerned about explaining their costs and requesting i.d, insurance etc than about an animal who was suffering. I gave up. I would like to know why vets now are unable to access the medical notes of an animal who is with the practice they are based at? I would like to know why given the vast amount they charge they are short staffed? I would like to know what people who are unable to get their animal to the surgery in an emergency are supposed to do?

Brought our dog to the clinic at 1am on a Saturday evening. Poor boy has an eye infection. He was thoroughly checked out and treated immediately. Extremely professional and compassionate team. My boy is now on the mend and I would like to express my most sincerely appreciation for the impeccable care he has received. Definitely a 5 star establishment

Hi I would like to say a massive massive thankyou to Karl who saved the life of my 8month old sprocker. I took my Harvey to vets now and on arrival he went into shock,I was told to brace myself as Karl did not think Harvey would survive the night. He promised to call me in a couple of hours which he did. Karl cared for Harvey through the night and then arranged for my own vet to be ready to take Harvey first thing to continue the care. Harvey had apparently swallowed a stone which obstructed his small intestine, after having an op Harvey is now back at home recovering, mad as ever. Again thankyou Karl.

I can't complain about the service we got or the care that our dog received but the cost is absolutely outrageous. Vets Now can only charge these ludicrous prices because most people have insurance and even then you can only claim about 2/3 of it back if you're lucky. In contrast, I had to take our George to an independent vet in Penrith after he caught a chill having been up a mountain overnight (long story!). I got the vet out of bed at midnight, he gave George a thorough examination, prescribed antibiotics and pain killers and only charged me Β£60.00. Now thats the difference between an independent vet and a chain linked to Vets Now.

At a very stressful and sad time the staff were compassionate and honest. They did not rush us at all. On the expensive side, but I totally understand why. You don’t end up at the out of hours emergency vets for simple problems. Tests equipment and good staff costs money. Seeing the way the dealt with my baby girl even after she passed was beyond caring and repectful.

Vets Now in Hadley, we're absolutely brilliant when we had to rush our Chow Chow in as an emergency. The Vet phoned us to let us know how our doggy was doing which was such a comfort & put our minds at rest. Thank you so much for being so kind & caring Mr & Mrs Hodgkins

I can not comment on the standard of care as it was overnight and we were not present my understanding is these people are an out of hours service that took over the care of our cat when our local vet finished for the day. They did phone with couple of updates during the night What I am disgusted with is less than 24hrs later after making the heart breaking decision to end our pets life as it was the kindest thing to do, his major surgery and recovery had failed, they were chasing payment this was not days later this was less than 24 HOURS it is insensitive and inappropriate when we are just coming to terms with our loss. Just to show you the comparison our local vet who carried out the surgery etc when it came to paying could see we were clearly upset like anyone would be in this situation told us not to worry about payment to sort it early next week. If your looking for a service that shows compassion in a potentially devastating situation this is not the service or people to choose unless you have your debit card at the ready.
