We had a fantastic long weekend break here. The accommodation was lovely and very clean. The views are beautiful and the surrounding areas - we would definitely recommend. The games room was loved by the children.
I really cannot recommend this place more high my. I’ve stayed in a lot of airbnbs and this is definitely one that’s up there. We were two couples with one toddler and the cottage was extremely well equipped and comfortable with underfloor heating (a blessing on a cold rainy weekend!). We were so impressed by how well thought out everything was, the instructions and signage were extremely helpful, there was no room for confusion as to how things worked and were things were. The facilities on site were e de definitely a bonus: the games room was great, the play area was beautifully done and the laundry room/local shop very convenient to have. We will come back.
My friends and I stayed in the Mycock cottage over the weekend and loved our stay. The cottage was in a location with beautiful views and felt beautifully peaceful and quiet whilst at the same time having the cosy company of other cottages and holidaymakers. We were provided with a beautiful welcome basket of locally sourced goods which we enjoyed during our stay, and the cottage had all the amenities and kitchen bits and bobs we needed to enjoy our stay. Our hosts were very responsive when we had questions and made us feel looked after. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend and wouldn’t hesitate to book again and stay at these lovely cottages!
We had a wonderful experience at Wheeldon Trees Cottages. We stayed for 2 nights at Elliott Cottage. It was a good size for 4 people - the living area, bathroom, and kitchen was spacious but the rooms were a little tight. We received a lovely welcome basket and the owners had fantastic attention to detail, leaving headtorches for night walks, maps of nearby walking trails, and an honesty shop stocked with essentials. I would highly recommend staying here if you want a quiet getaway with lovely scenery but I would be careful on the drive up as being so remote, the roads are a little tricky to navigate.
We stayed here for two nights in the ‘Walkers rest’ cottage. We wanted a few days away from busy city life - this really is a heaven on earth. The accommodation was outstanding, the cottage had everything (literally everything) you need. We was welcomed to a welcome hamper and classical FM on the radio. It’s was extremely clean and all made up for us. The location is amazing! Hazel and Steve have thought of everything and is honestly one of the best places I have ever been and we can’t wait to book our next return !!!
We had an amazing 4 night winter-stay at the Farmhouse. Steve was very welcoming and accommodating on check in. The cottage, nearby store room and games room has everything you need for a more than comfortable stay. We loved the cottage decor, everything felt of good quality and clean. We would love to return in the warmer months and would 100% recommend to friends and family.
Wow what can I say, we spent an amazing 2 nights here from New Years day. What a find and I am so glad I did. fabulous way to spend the start of a New year. Everything about this place is 5 star. Cottage was beautiful, we wanted for nothing. The bikes were amazing, the honesty shop. the games room, the whole entire place was breathtakingly beautiful, I would highly recommend and I plan to do just that....... we will 100 percent be returning. I am a stickler for high standards and luxury stays and this place ticked all the boxes, the attention to detail that has been put in place is fantastic.......Thankyou Steve & Hazel.
We spent Christmas in the farmhouse with family and it was wonderful. Chocolate box countryside and a perfect family retreat, beautifully equipped and furnished with lots of Christmas touches. Steve and Hazel put a lot of effort into Wheeldon Cottages and it shows. The wood burning hot tub was great and the little honesty shop proved very handy. The kitchen easily accommodated a full turkey dinner. Fantastic oven and hob! Thanks for a great and memorable stay
Stayed at the farmhouse, absolutely spotless everything you needed lovely and warm. Brilliant views ideal place for walking. Use of the electric bikes is a good idea. Recommend the royal oak for food nearby.Steve very helpful with local knowledge
Our first holiday with our 14 month old dog. Walks straight out our cottage were meticulously mapped out .Wheeldon trees Showcases nature beautifully.The cottage is cosy and clean with all necessary appliances and is permeated with gorgeous White company fragrance.There is a small general store on site which stocks some delicious treats and milk!.Steve was on hand if you needed anything ( including getting us bread from the local bakery).
